• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Vintage Husqvarnas Stolen in Rhode Island Last Night!!!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
A guy in the Yahoo Husky forum from Smithfield RI had 2 Husqvarnas stolen from him last night.

One is a 1983 250WR and the other is a 1981 250CR with a 1979 fuel tank on it. These bikes are within our prized model years so I ask anyone close to and within New England to watch for anyone trying to peddle off these bikes or any part related to them

ty jimspac...i have recovered the 81 im still searching for the 83...a couple easy give aways are the blue seat...its has been redone with a lightblue/pearl material, also the blue and yellow lines on the body plastic have sharp edges they should be rounded and finaly one od the engine mounts is not original

ty again !!!

I am more than glad to help. I got all my Husqvarnas after a 24yr absence from off road and even though all are awaiting my TLC restoration plans. I feel violated just when I can't find a part after I safely tucked it away. Even though I know it is out in the barn somewhere:) I hope you can recover the 83 as well as the 84 250WR I have is one of the keepers for me

Hopefully they have not parted that baby out yet. That is what I would worry about as it is far too easy to sell off parts without serial numbers and frames are too expensive to ship anyway

C.mon
How many 83 CR's in New England have a rear loop on frame, springs on upsidown, modified sidepanel graphics, and on and on......let the beatings begin!

Do a SEAL Team 6.0 and get her back

Go over and look at the bike up close ... If you can prove it is yours ... Leave and go directly to nearest Airborne Ranger (no leg rangers please) camp for backup ... Then return and get your bike ... The local police can be substituted for the airborne squad ... And get the bike back where it belongs ...

He is best to go with police. The bike is in a very seedy area of Providence. He has to wait for the Smithfield detective assigned to his case. He does not have a bill of sale, just some docs of the rebuild he did and hopefully the police will back up his claim. Also possible the guy that has it is not the thief

hey guys i got it back....it was posted on craigslist...with zero help from the cops i arranged the sting myself...its def roughed up...ty again everyone

Kook got his bike back this morning. Guy that had claimed to have purchased it but he was arrested and will hopefully give up the guy that stole it. Bike was beat upon but is is a Husqvarna, amazing what some of them have survived

Certainly is nice to see them lose. I do feel bad for the guy who the bike was retrieved from only if he was not the one that stole it in th first place. I have questions the origin of every old bike I have as I do not like to layout money for stolen property and me get in trouble just for buying a project or parts bike
