  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Want bars raised or taller handlebars for my 09TXC

Husqvarna
AA Class
On my old DRZ I was able to find a "riser" kit but can't seem to find on for fatbars so I can raise my txc's bars up. Anyone here using the taller pro-taper or find some risers for the fats bars?

there are a couple of pro tapper bars that are much taller than the stock fatbars on recent model husqvarnas.one is the pastrana bar,is is very tall and i dont know anyone that likes it besides perhaps travis himself.the other is the KX high bar.it is pretty tall versus stock and may be what you are looking for as i have sold many of them.hope this helps, dan

We have the CR Hi Pro Tapers with the stock Husky bar risers on top of the triple clamp on both of our Huskies. Did your Husky not come with the risers?

I saw some risers in the Touratech catalog, but didn't see them on the website. I'll post a part number and price this evening.

Guess I should have been more clear yes mine came with the stock risers, but at 6'2" and most of that upper body height I need to increase the bar height. I like the taller bars but worry about the strength with the hight. I am looking for about 3/4" to 1" total increase, but don't want to lose the width/pull back of the stock bars.
Thanks for the input.

I've done this a couple times when I can't find a bar that I like. Buy another pair of the bar mount top saddles so that you'll have four. Mount a pair under the bar on top of the lower saddle and then mount the other pair on top but with four new bar mount bolts that are an appropriate length longer (about an inch). That gets you about an inch of rise.

Couldn't you just get longer bolts and toss an inch worth of washers under the spacers and call it a day? I was going to actually do that today but Home Depot didn't have the right size metric bolts.

Or just drill a couple holes in a 2 x 4 and add the longer bolts!

The spacers from Husqvarna fit pretty much every bike... including my new TXC511 and my WR300... or you can get them from Enduro Engineering for $25

i think i would rather put a tall bar on my bike rather than have tall spacers and long handlebar bolts.but then again i crash alot!dan

I just looked those up, they certainly look better than a stack of washers (or God forbid a 2X4, clutch lol, that would look hilarious) Its too bad they only raise the bars 1/3"

If you order the 2007 tc 450 husky spacers and bolts for the bar clamp, they are taller. In addition to that if you still need more height, I would run a CR double high bend. I run CR highs (tag t2 bars) with the 07 spacers and I'm happy with it.
