• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Warning before you buy Akropovich

Just want to let you guys know if your running an Akropovich exhaust, don't break it! My 2010 TC 250 had a tipover and broke carbon fiber exhaust hanger and cone. Carbon fiber just shattered. I thought carbon fiber was strong. Ok shit happens but cannot get parts for it. Contacted akropovichs office in California and parts will be delivered to them in 4-6 weeks. Are you kidding me. I would have bought an FMF or Procircuit.

I dont know how far you have gone to find spares or how your dealer is resourceful, but Parts Unlimited for one source example has Husky Akropovic pipes listed as well as spares including a bunch of different CF hangers and other hardware.
Business wise Ak and the distributor side support for your product is great but its tough if you sell 5 units (I really have no idea of their numbers) a year in the NA market to stock/shelf support parts is not cost effective at all.

Halls Husky has been looking for 2 weeks for the hanger! I just noticed the cone was broke last week and called halls. Parts unlimited has sent the wrong hanger twice. If they can't get hanger I don't think they will have much luck with cone. Can I use stock can with the Ak pipe. Have bike jetted perfect with Ak pipe combo. Don't ureally want to go back to stock and start ovet

Carbon fiber is strong as hell, its just a really crappy material to use in an impact prone area, it is so hard it is brittle.
Sure looks nice though.
Good luck on the pipe.

Had to pay 20% extra to get parts in 2 weeks! I would buy FMF or Pro Circuit if your looking at an aftermarket exhaust. $230 for a hanger and endcap!! Do not buy Akropovich************************************************************************************************************************!

Interesting how the Akropovic Muffler that came standard with TE511 in Australia does not have hanger style mounting but an integrated tab that bolts onto the frame.
I sympathize with you on your problem. Perhaps in hindsight the FMF Q4 would have been a safer bet.

Carbon fiber on a dirtbike is just for marketing and bling in IMO...great as heat resistent protection, ridgity and saving weight but it is woven strands like fibreglass so it will eventually shatter when hit by a sharp impact....you can patch carbon with fibreglass?
PS. You can get a replacement end cap from fleabay UK for 65 pounds or Amazon for US$80 odd and the same evolution series sold on husky's, the mufflers are the same across the board - exhaust hanger, better off grabbing some sheet metal and fashion a new one?
