  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What year TE 310, is there a difference 2011 to 2014 USA?

I have a 2012 TE 511 that Race Tech lowered for me and I am giving up trying to get them to understand set up. For me at least.
So I am looking at getting a 310 and starting over and was wondering if there is any difference between years other than cosmetic.
There seams to be an abundance of knowedge of the brand here that may be more enlightened than the local dealers.
I would appreciate any input offered, I think..

2011 & 2012 TE310 = X Lite motor, black head, mikuni EFI, kayaba forks, Sachs shock (2011) kayaba shock (2012)
Good bike. Seems common to tune EFI (via Ibeat) or swap to txc ecu and 12 hole injector to smooth out fueling.

2013 & 2014 TE310R - r stands for Redhead. X lite motor with new higher flowing "red" head. More hp and torque. Keihin EFI that can be kick started with a dead battery. Kayaba suspension. In my opinion, the fuel injection is better on these models. Get a dealer to load open pipe map, add a free flowing silencer and they rip.

2012 with the TXC ECU/injector and FMF PowerBomb and Q4 silencer is no slouch. Pulls my fat @$$ around with power to spare.

Thank you for the info, I found a 2012 with 860 miles that has been lowered 1 1/2". I also found a few 13s around the same price but I would want to lower it also, I've tried having racetech do it on my 511 and won't do that again. Is there someone else in SoCal that does it.
Again thanks for all the help
