  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where can I find the dual map switch and silicone rad hoses?

like the title say, looking for the dual map switch and red silicone radiator hoses for my 09 450.

well I ordered the switch at my local dealer for $20, still looking for some red hoses that dont cost an arm and a leg.

cheap hoses from China......$30.00
Cardiac arrest pushing bike to truck after cheap hoses burst...$10,000.00 in surgery

ebay hoses fr.china

I ordered some of these. I have no idea if they are silicone as advertised but I can tell you 'kit' didn't match up w/hoses that came off. So now I'm rockin' 4 or 5 red hoses and 1 black one. Plus I had to cut coupla the red ones to fit.

You're talking about the Samco ones on eBay?

from what Ive heard from a friend, the Samco hoses are right on the money, and almost every race team uses their product.
IMO people who buy the Chinese colored hoses are only asking to get stranded somewhere.

Ill report back in a few weeks when I get mine how they fit.

I don't know. I pay pal'd some entity named 'betterlife' at yahoo.cn or some such. If that's the good brand you've referenced then I'm sure that is NOT the company I ordered from.

Make sure you get the Samco hoses that dont need the plastic T piece.
I have seen the plastic T melt!! (yes they were hot) just think of the weakest link..
Stick a high pressure Cap on and get some wetting agent in there too. Oh yes and buy the Water Impeller upgrade from the 10 model to help move the stuff through quicker.

Be warned the dual mode switch on the 09 requires it being held in for 3 - 5 seconds to activate the mode switchover, unlike on the 07 that was a quick flick of the switch... darn you husky engineers...:banghead:
