  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where to buy fork lowering spacers

samp615

Husqvarna
C Class
I am looking to lower my forks about 3.5 inches. The bike is a 78 cr250. Does anyone know a place I can buy spacers?

Or i could pay someone here to make them

Using this diagram, could someone tell me what parts the spacer goes betweem?

Would I put the spacer on the bottom of number 26?

The spacer would slide over #26, but I think you will hear a top out clunk every time the forks return.

The spacers shoud have a clearance ID of about 1/16 over the damper rod OD and slide against the shoulder of the rod with top out spring under if required

the spacer would not slide over 26 it would be a slightly smaller diameter to extend 26 to make the forks longer...the uk leask husky team of 78 did this and so did i... it was posted how to do it in an article in the the english "Trials and motocross" news magazine around that time..i still got that somewhere.. . I used hollow ally bar stock...approx diameter 13 mm ( 1/2") with 8.5 mm hole (3/8").. only did an 35mm [1"] extension..sort of got caught up looking at the long forks of the 79cr models.... but you have to consider slider part 17 to stanchion part 24 overlap....i guess it was more on the 79cr models... as you know the long 35mm forks of 79 and 80 were prone to bending when used on hard tracks with big jumps and heavier riders. you will also need a longer 8mm bolt part 22 and add some extra fork oil. brake cable should still be long enough..... bike will not turn as well.... my advice leave as standard.

He was asking to shorten the travel, not extend. He is making a TT or flat track racer
