• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

:notworthy: finely somebody that simply put the fun factor in your face in a commercialized environment

Skills for sure to be at that result at that level on a 125

Give this guy a 165 and he would move far more up in standings and still rub the fun in your face

Respect

Last I heard/checked, 144cc 2T is max for 250 4T class...I wonder if he could close the gap a little more with a 144 cc YZ?

It's a bean thing (as stated by the rider also) and KTM is the only player big enough to go all in on racing a 2t bike in the heaven-sent ama ... Not even sure if it would be worth it for them to race them in ama ... Mitch Payton said yrs ago he did not care what they raced but it was either 2t or the 4t ... Too expensive and too much of everything to try and race both.

Also remember RC4, a couple yrs after he quit racing(?), say that he thought the 2t still had the advantage in SX racing because of the engine snap ... There are cases where 125cc bikes have competed with the glorified 250cc 4t bikes and done OK ... But to expect these machines to come back to the ama racing on any scale, forget it...it's a moon shot are best...

Good luck to any and all riders on a 2t bike anywhere on earth today and in the future, not just the riders on hallowed grounds of the ama. I'm still on the trails with mine and maybe I'll take to the track as I've said here before ...
