• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WR skid plate and rad. guard impressions

PC.

Husqvarna
AA Class
I got some Motosportz rad guards and skid plate delivered recently for my 09' WR. My initial reaction was impressive. Nicely made, perfect welds and cuts.

Installation on both was a breeze. The rad guards have slotted mounting holes, which allows for perfect positioning, which is especially important if you want the lower plastic shrouds to fit flush with the upper shrouds  The 'socket holes' are a nice touch too. My T-handle fit perfectly and I completed the job in 15 minutes or so.

My only piece of advice (not gripe) would be to offer some 'upgraded' braces with some cross bracing, ala Moose rad. cages. These guards are stout and will certainly offer good protection in a tip-over crash, but some people (like me) are prone to pretzeling radiators and need all the side impact protection they can get. Just my dos pesos......

The skid plate is stout. It makes the Devol plate on my YZ look like Reynolds Wrap. The drain hole lines up, the mounts fit the frame perfectly and it offers very good water pump & stator protection. Simple and effective.

I'm impressed. Priced right, good quality and I like supporting those whom support us.

Two thumbs up :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks PC.

As for the crush protection on the rad guards the two embossed ridges across the face make them VERY strong to side impacts. We have made these for many years now with excellent results / customer feedback.

Ride on friends.

Let's see some pics of these on the 09!

Might have to get one of these skidder platers in a couple weekers from Motosportz!

I'll get some pics tomorrow.

I assure you it's nice. It really makes my Devol skid plate look pathetic.

I have the skid plate, but the black powder coating is peeling off around the top edge, near down tube, but works fine!
