  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR300 Scored Cylinder/Cylinder Sleeve. Where can i get a new one?

Nemisnemo

Husqvarna
Hey there! i scored my cylinder going 130kph on my 2013 WR300 and slid on the asphalt for a while cause i didn't think of pulling the clutch quick enough!
Seems a 430 main jet is too lean for my climate (Or my crank seals are shot, could be either one. Ill be changing out both once i get it rebuildt)

Looks like there a cylinder sleeve on it, could this be true? Where can i get one of these? Don't really care where its from but if its from Europe that would be awsome!

Many thanks!

Honestly this is quite new to me but i think i found out that it has a Nikasil coating. And i found a machineshop willing to help me put a new one on.

BUT if anyone knows, how do i remove this from the powervalve? Pulling on it didn't work and i dont want to destroy it.
Can you even remove it? seems like its pretty stuck in there

Many thanks!

You will want to get a new piston and send it with the cylinder to be re-plated, this is probably a lot more affordable than a new cylinder. There are companies that re-plate cylinders you search for them in your area.

Yeah you're completely correct. Ive already sorted it, ill send it to get replated soon.

But my other question regarding how i remove the thing in the power valve system is my current issue, does anyone know how you're supposed to get it out?

Any help on this would be awsome. Maybe someone has a service manual that tells you how you're supposed to remove it for a rebuild

That power valve part does have an internal thread in it, it was small, maybe M4 I am not sure anymore ...
I tried to screw a long thread rod in it and fabricated a sort of hammer puller but I did not manage to get it to move, so I was never really able to remove it. I had a feeling I would just strip the thread if I hit it any harder, I guess I needed more heat...

Issue is that the plating company will charge you money to remove and non-aluminum parts from it. Maybe you should bring it to a mechanic with some proper puller and he can remove it for you.

Where are you located ?
Here in Spain we have a plating company that I read good things about: bsquality.es

Cheers.
