• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

X-Lite clutch jerkiness

robertaccio

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Been having a jerkiness and not a very smooth clutch slipping action on the 310.
At this past weekends event I had bad thought about a DNF because of the feel and the clunky noises coming from my clutch.
Voila!! I called ZipTy and spoke at length with the man, and yes they do have a repair/mod to eliminate the issue. It can be done for @100 beans. I will send it in next week after my tough one trail ride this weekend.

My TC250 with rekluse was making some obscene noises and it was cured with the supplied optional rubber x-rings, so sounds like a similar problem and cure.

My TXC310 lets out a "shuddering squeal" if I let the Rekluse slip the clutch very much. Under most riding conditions and in hard 2nd gear race starts no noise ... but a slow uphill first gear start and eeeuuuhhh - like fingernails on a chalk board:eek:

The x-rings from Rekluse fit in the little holes in the clutch hub underneath the first steel plate and help - but...

Rob - is this the kind of problem ZipTy cures? (I'm thinking of sending my suspension to them anyway so...I might include the clutch while I'm at it - also after this coming weekend:thumbsup:)
I used to own a ex-ZipTy 2005 YZ250 and the suspension on it was pretty special so...even though they might specialize in 'Zokes' I'm sure they know KYB's and of course - Huskies.

MikeB,
shuddering thing is what got me (no squeal from mine but clunky sounds), the ZipTy mod adresses that issue, as far as plate squeal from firction(?) maybe the jerkiness is inducing the slip/squeal from the forces. Regardless I would do the mod. Also the root cause are the basket shock bushings and their lifecycle in the very hot oil temp running x-lite motors plus with your slip clutch unit I am sure you may have even more oil temp on average. Ty has mega experience on all brands so you cant really go wrong there.

Send your suspention = Get ready for a great ride. Bottom line. Nothing more to say

odd but not, this week I did the oil change, put in $$$$ MotoRex 10w60, just got back from a brutal 35(loop1)+ 35 (loop 2 ) lots of gnarley stuff lots of clutch slipping on both up and down hills. Did not have any clutch issues at all. Got to ride "with" some of our HuskyNA folks as well as other veterans (ex-world champ) of our moto sport. The 310 is a single track weapon. Enduro360 rode the event on a basically stock TE511(admirable). There were a few more Huskys out there as well, more than ever before actually I can count 5 others in my mind after the 511. All the others were xlite machines I think 1 250 and 4 310s.
