  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

X-Lite kick starter shaft be discontinued

4stroker

Husqvarna
B Class
My TC 250 2010 has the kick starter shaft broken for second time and the dealer says it be discontinued.
I think it's dificult to made a new one.

Any ideas? Electric starter is not a option... ☺

A friend of mine had the same problem and he bought the kick starter shaft and the kick pedal from 2014 model. They fit correct and since then he did not have a problem.
You have to buy and the kick pedal and the screw for it, because yours does not fit to the 2014 model shaft.
Hope to help you.

Friend with a '13 TC250 has broken 2 and the last replacement was an updated one. New one looks better and has held up. Check with Hall's.

1) Do not kick your bike over as if it is a 2t bike. A slow push-down through the complete kicker-stroke ending against the footpeg is what my bikes want.

2) If the kicker feels like it is locked at TDC, do not force the kick over. Tap it off the top and get TDC on another stroke.

Good luck with the bike.

New part number is 8540193. I have two 2013 TC 250's and updated both. Beware if it is very hard to kick, the auto decompression release may be stuck. If so, remove the valve cover and push it back into position. I did this and it never happened again, knock on wood.
