• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just got mine from down under, WOW! These guys make some serious stuff. There is nothing like it in the USA, Fox, Thor, Klim all of them take a back seat to how this thing is put together. This is designed by riders who actually ride, not some kid fresh out of marketing college. (It does match my 449 VERY well though!)

I got the Recon S3 version.

When I load up the back pack (with way more than I should) and put it on, it fits better than my hiking pack. I cant wait to use it.

Shipping to Ca was about $40 and they got it here in less than a week.

Can you tell Im happy?

If you guys are on this site, dam fine job you've done!

Give these guys a look;

They have been in magazines for a few years. I tried on quite a few brands, and none of them fit. ZACSpeed seem to have more variety of sizes.
I currently use a RockGardn chest protector, which is a manufacturer for downhill mountain bike gear. Only complaints is it tend to come up in front

forgot to ask earlier, have you worn it doing any mx type stuff(do you feel its too bulky for that) or do you have seperate protector for that kind of riding.

No, just the opposite, you can remove the chest plate and turn it into a backpack. The hard spine protector is removable as well. If you use the chest guard you also must use the backpack.

does everything come off of it if youd like to just wear the chest protector by itself?

I dont think it would be too bulky, the biggest pack might be. Its really for Enduro/Exploring not the track, but it would work.

I've had mine since 2008 and love it. Well worth the coinage IMO. Although I do not use it for racing anymore.

Dang, I guess its old news. I will say this though, everything Ive bought from Austrailia has been top notch.

There is no current importer for them although I know of someone in Phoenix who's selling them for $250.

Hmmm - I talked to a national retailer today and took his word for it that there was no current distributor ?

The US distributor seemed scetchy to me, cant tell if they have any stock or not. I went to the Zac site and just ordered from them, took no time at all.

The guy on ebay with a picture of it on his back is the guy in Phx - he is a good guy who puts on good races in Az - just wish it was cheaper.

I have one and will say quality is great. Pricey. I find myself not using it as much as before only because my camelback fits twice as much and I keep carrying more and more stuff when I ride. I won't sell it though. Lol
