You don't get something for nothing.:oldman:

I'm wondering how much power you'll be robbing this poor little bike trying to run either a hid or halogen light for night racing.

    Just a thought.

That sounds like Harv alright. The headlight and taillight might slow him down just a little bit and we can't be having that. Seems like Harv sometimes thinks with his right hand to much and sometimes his hand gets stuck in 1 spot( usually 3/4 to WFO throttle)....One of these days he'll jump over to a WR,,but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Just finished my first enduro on the new steed, and I couldn't be much happier. However, I think I'll spend a little time checking over all my electrical connections since I had to ride an entire section without using my front brake or clutch or touching my handguards. Why? Because I'd get a vicious shock whenever I touched them! Sometimes it was just a tingle, but at other times it was a full-on electric fence jolt. Good times. A smarter man would have stopped to troubleshoot the problem, but I'm committed to an unhealthy level in the ECEA's ultracompetitive C Vet class. Yer not gonna win a worthless cutting board by tracing wires on the side of the trail! I jiggled a few wires at a reset, and it was much better afterwards, but it might also have been that my gloves were dried out by then, too.

    Yes, I'm an idiot!

    Love this bike, though...

WR125 already has a lighting coil in the stator. You just need a regulator to hook lights up. I'm guessing you're asking about the '95 you juat got?

I think the KTM stator is 55w? Might be 45. I guess it depends on what tail light you have. I'm running an LED taillight, so I could probably run a brighter halogen bulb. However, that 35w halogen is actually pretty bright. I really want to see what Ajaxauto's LED headlight setup looks like. It sounds like a great setup.

Also the light will work just off the bike but at a idle or low speed it will flicker.so i added a battery The stock battery box off the 4 stroke which only cost 6 bucks at the dealer fits into the stock 125 air box No mounting bolts required it just sets there and the seat holds it down
I used a trailer plug as a 2 part plug .The rewound stator seems to recharge the battery because after 6 plus hours of racing the battery was fine and still would start the 4 stroke when i put it back in it

Update just did another Desert Night Race This one was a team race and was 120 miles long.Lights worked great all night and the batt was still at full charge at the finish
I teamed up with my 19 year old son so this old man had to race with the kids Anyway
there were over 100 teams on the line and the start was a mass start everyone left
the line at the same time.At the first rider change the kids brings me the bike in 5th overall .No pressure knowing you are the weak link in this chain we raced all night at at about 1.30am we finished and were told we finished 12th overall and 3rd 125 expert
The first 2 in the 125 class were KTMs 200.
Update new results just posted and now we are listed as 10h overall 86 teams started only 35 finished

    Dfeckel,

How did the bike run with this set up? Did it have the dreaded wr125 bog on the bottom?

This bike had a bit of a bog on the bottom when I first got it, but not too bad. Certainly not what many folks were experiencing with the '09 WRs. I put a Powernow divider in and adjusted the power valves and ended up with minimal bog. FMF fatty made it even better. So no, I didn't really have any dreaded WR bog with this setup.

Thanks for the info. I have an 09 WR144 and I have done everything people have said to do on here to get rid of that bog but there's still that little bog on the bottom. I would like to put a CR ignition into it but I want to keep the lights for a few blue plated enduro's here in Ontario.

Did you have to change the cdi to work with the ktm stator? I wasn't able to find the part number you used on your set up from moose racing but was able to find the stator. Also what year KTM 125 stator did you use?
