125-200cc 09 Wr 125 Bog/Performance Solved?

Definitely jetting before springs.! I was chasing a mid flat spot with jetting but it turned out the spring combo I was using was the cause of it. We need a little gif that show you shooting yourself in the foot.

Yup. I went to the stock/silver and the flat spot went away went away. The off/on pipe transition was also smoothed out.

Most of the guys have forgotten how horrid some of these 09 WR125's ran out of the box with the factory supplied jetting. Higher elevation made it even worse. Getting the jetting right was the single most important factor in saving the bike from an ebay any price takes it. The lack of acceptable needle options with the TMXX made the PWK a necessity and brought the bike to life. Too bad the one you can easily buy doesn't fit well.

The discovery of the RM needles should save a lot of owners a lot of money. The outer PV springs were a crutch that made mine at least ride able but with a flat spot. I still like the ability to change the nature of the scoot with the inner springs. Kudos to all the guys that have put so much time and effort into solving the mystery.

I agree 100 percent, except I think your spring kit makes the bike even better once it is jetted. The springs smooth out the hit which really helps in the tight woods.
I now have a 36mm pwk and my bike runs like a dream.

Hats off to the guys/gals like Walt, Kelly,Norm,Colo Moto,Woodschick, and everyone else! We can't forget that we wouldn't be this far without all their work. Like all of us, we all have read those threads over and over and over. They helped us get boggy/flat spot bikes running pretty darn good! You guys are the ones that made me buy my bike in the first place! Right now, I would not hesitate buying another one!

Post all your jetting, plus all the modifications you've done top your bike. What's your plug look like? I will start a new thread. Jetting recomendations with RM needle.

New Ground Plowing:

I raced mine in the 40's and ran a little leaner on the plug (Light Tan). Me, I'd like it a little browner. Now I am back in the 70's, so I have to wait till it gets cool again. My WR 250 manual says to go 2 sizes richer on the mains but it still ran better on the
460. Walt's recommended trying 47.5 pilot and keep the 460 main. I will do that first. I will also try a full clip move richer or use the washer and holder to do a 1/2 clip move.

From my observation, I seem to be good 50's +.

Under 50 - I'm starting to lean.

Where do you get a 47.5 pilot. Every where I look they are only sold in increments like 40-45-50. How much difference in jetting do you think it will be for a 144cc over the 125cc ???

Call Hall's That's where I got mine. I think you can get them also thru Suzuki, RM 125, 2004 or K4. I don't know, but we have some guys plowing new ground . We'll also get Crille 74 to post his specs with his 144.

When I first made the shift to the 144, I didn't notice much if any difference in jetting requirements. Maybe slightly richer across the board but it was small. The 167 on the other hand requires significantly richer settings, especially on the main. Funny thing is that I get better mileage with the 167. Torque is a wonderful thing.

I will have the RM needles in the next couple of days thanks to Suzuki and Darin. I will also post my results albeit at 5000'.

45pilot jet
460main jet
Spark Plug Ngk BR9EIX
powervalve in 3/4 from topp

Runs absolutley great.
Gonna test some more in a few days.

Does anyone have a RM needle they would be willing to sell or loan till I get my own. They are currently on BO and not due till Nov 7th. I need one before that to ride the Famous Gobbler Getter Enduro in Alabama.

Let me see If I can locate one today, thru a dealer parts search? There are alot of guys ordering them. The East cost had 3 in stock one day and I tried to order one the next day and they were all spoken for.

Well my friends. There is not 1 dealer, in the US, that has one. Meaning: (registered on Suzuki's locator service). There might be a dealer out there that has one but not on the locator service. They tell me that the dealers have to pay to be on the locator service and alot of them are not. I tried some good dealers but they don't have any. Maybe one of our UK, Australian, or European friends can see if they have any. Suzuki Part # 13383-36FQO for 04 RM125 Needle 6CHY16-62.

What about all the optional RM needles? I thought they were on the first page of this thread but could not find them. Anyway, do they just have a richer or leaner clip position? If so it seems like one of them would work fine if available.

I thought they may go on backorder so I ordered TWO of em. Sorry, just sent the spare to Utopia on Tuesday so he could try it in his wr250. But for you guys that don't have them I will send pics of how they work.
