Problem is the Husky use a 1/2 perimeter 1/2 backbone frame which doesn't allow for the gas tank to drop down into the frame like the GasGas and the TM which both have full perimeter frames.

The other issue is there has to be enough room for the fuel pump and without a new 250 4 stroke available, it's going to be hard to design that feature into the new tank.

if the tank was lower on the top, you could use a riser like this

    for the dry break

Where can you get one of those riser I could mount one on my STOCK CR 2008 2.5 gallon tank that would be enought for Gran Prix maybe even desert as my IMS is 3.3 gallons and i almost never fill it I only use it because it is clear and has the dry break

you can buy the riser from clockworkktm.com
it might be a bit of work to mount it to the stock tank though.

not any worse than a plastic tank that comes way up.
Most people run some foam around the back of the riser/quickfill.

Husky shows a optional high capacity tank for 2010 WR125

Listed about 2/3 the way down.

Has to fit the '09 right? Surely they didn't build a new frame. And surely it will be available as a replacement part. Wonder what the actual capacity is?

but there's a difference between a big tank and a "high capacity" tank, like the ktm 4stroke offroad bikes are only 2.4 gallon tanks, Yamahas are like 2.2 for the newer WRs.

Lindsay may have the first tank done next week. The molds are done, he is juggling multiple projects. Now would be the time for anyone interested, to contact Eric Pirie at P3 directly to order a tank.

Latest update..... Molds are done and first tank will be done soon. Lindsay will send the tank to me or take it up to Drew Smith for a final fitting. Lindsay said the first tank is mine for doing so much leg work to help get it done.

On a further note.... I took the bike down to a product developement company in Corning NY today for Lindsay, so they could look at the bike and stock tank. The can do the digital scanning and CAD work if P3 decides to do a plastic version of the tank. Neat place! Very cool Hass machine tools that they use to make prototypes for industry in plastic or metal. They also had a really cool 3D rapid prototype modeler. It basically takes powder and glue and builds up layers to make a 3D model of an item for first hands on inspection.

So stay tuned, P3 may do a plastic tank or do something with IMS.

I think he wants to finish the first tank to see how much work it takes, as each tank is different, before the price is set. I'll let you know.

Tank No.1 is done..... 2.7 gal capacity. Perfect for enduro use for me, but I guess guys in the wide open spaces will want more. No.1 is earmarked for me, but it's taken a little side trip, so Jay Hall can take a look at it. He wants to look it over, fit it on a WR125 and may take it to Las Vegas Endurocross/Dealer meeting to put it on a TC250.
