i just installed the ecu/12 port and a full race Akrapovic Stainless & Titanium Full exhaust on my 2011 te 310 ......... holllllllllly SH$$%^^TTT...... I had to change out the rear sprock to a 48 .from the 50 t . you need to ad the pipe to get the full monty .
Yes, I know, thanks. I'm going to try the 12P/ECU with my existing JD tuner and non-cat stock pipe for a while first.
Will I have to take the throttle body off the bike to replace the injector? I know the injector screws can be a bitch to remove, anything else I should know befrore I start?
(no) remove the sub frame and air cleaner and gas tank .. carefull not to break the fuel 90 degree conector on the tank the injector screws are easy to remove .
Holy crap!!! What a complete pain in the ass it is just removing the tank off these fuel injected bikes. I've owned a ton, including street bikes but this takes the cake! There are more connectors/wires/hoses to deal with, and that fuel line...could it be made any stiffer or be any harder to pull off the throttle body. After a putting it back together I found that it leaked from the fitting "quick connect" right on the hot pipe. Has anyone replaced the stiff p.o.s. with regular fuel line?
I have to remove the subframe?! Crap. I'd rather remove the throttle body. OK thanks H400. I replaced the 90 deg conn. with a metal one the 1st time I had the tank off, before I had a chance to break it! One of the first mods I did. I've had the tank off so many times I "modified" a circlip tool to get that fuel connector off easily.
I removed the injector screws by warming the screw heads with a electric sodering iron, then a good screw driver , no problem piece of cake the fuel line is a son of gun though
my dealer has the 2012 txc ecu & 12 port on the shelf for MY11 TE 250 said he let me have it for $ 345.00 . but he also said the tps would have to be reset ? is this unit plug and play or need tps reset ? he offered to install and set tps for $ 100.00 which sounds reasonable to me ! but if plug and play i thought the 100 bucks could go toward the jd tuner ! so what yaall think ?
ecu ? thought i read somewhere you could disconnect battery then reconnect turn key on turn throttle slowly to wide open then back turn key off then back on ? not sure if there is any truth to this or not ?? just thought i would ask.
Well I think I'm going to have to look into this upgrade a little more. I am very interested. Does anyone know what TPS stands for? Just for when I'm talking to my dealer about this kit. Also, I know for all the do-it-yourself people like me, would love to see someone post up a few pic's of this installation. I really enjoy taking these projects on but these EFI systems are pretty new to me. Sounds like I might need the dealer still for the ibeat part but the rest sounds doable.
Throttle Position Sensor I had one go out on a 95 Chev PU over 4th of July in Jackson, WY (can't get stuff fixed over a holiday that easily). Still managed to drive home with it but it was some rough shifting and generally unpleasant
Hey Aaron8. I'm curious about the JD tuner with the new injector/ECU. I was told by my dealer that the JD was meant for the stock injector/ECU. I love the way the bike runs without the JD but if it can be improved even more then bonus. Let us know how it works out and what settings you try with the tuner. Laura
