The last thing the x-lite needs is a lighter flywheel. Heavier if anything. The problem with power delivery down low is an EFI thing. Remapping helps. Word is the 12 hold injector does too (of course, the EFI is remapped to use that).

It took me awhile to get it all sorted, bit of a minor issue with my wrist, so I've not been riding for awhile.

Changing the injector was not so easy, taking the subframe off was easy as, but the screws holding the injector in are tight, ended up getting a local engineering firm to do it ( they did a coal chisel to the side of the screw trick ). Replaced them with hex nuts.

So far just ridden around the house a few times, but I had a grin from ear to ear.

I used to be able to stall it or close enough by blipping the throttle quickly, that's effectively gone, it just feels responsive & for lack of a better word meaty.

No changes so far to the JD settings I had, felt really nice off the bottom, this weekend or next wed I'll have a shot mid-top.

kiwitxc, sorry to hear about your wrist, but it sounds like it's getting better. Glad to hear you're a little happier with the low end. When you have a chance to really test it in the tight stuff and over logs and rocks I'll be interested in hearing how it does. I'll be getting the dealer to install the Injector/ECU so it's done right. Still waiting on it though. Too bad it's not in because the weather is above freezing up here. Not typical for February in Southern Ontario.

Tks Laura, was talking to my dealer & he just rode a tc250 with 12 port/ecu/pipe and we had a similar take on the 12 port, I think you'll be happy. Not to sure when I'll do another gnarly ride, will probably stay out of the rough stuff for another month until I am confident I can ride it without causing damage to my hand, though given my local mx track has a log section in the middle temptation will probably get the better of me, I get a hand brace monday, will ride again next wed.
There's a national enduro near where I live early March which I'm hoping to be right for and that will definitely have some tight stuff.
Hope the weather holds for you, it sounds like a very mild winter in your part of the world/NJ/NY.
P.S. If you have not put a li-ion battery in, I'd do it, removing that high up weight has really helped how nimble the bike feels.

Maybe that is why I like the 2 stroke but my Yamaha WRF snaps to attention off idle.

    I have a 2011 TE310.

    After reading this;
    http://www.dirtrider.com/reviews/dirt_bike/141_1112_2012_husqvarna_310_txc/index.html

I bought the 2012 tcx310 ECU (8000h7424) and the kawi 12 hole injector (49033-0011). Like other USA model TE310's I had the bog or hesitation when accelerating from low rpm and a serious tendancy to stall. Those problems are gone! The bike just runs like it should, maybe better, it is really very nice. It does not need to be up in the revs to get good power. Stalling just doesn't happen anymore. I simply bolted in the parts and went riding - no onboard tuner or tuning was done. I didn't even have the TPS reset(I might at some point). Swapping the ECU was easy. The injector was harder. The philips head screws that hold it on were very tight.

    I hope this helps.

The advice i got from my dealer is that all '12 TE250/310 that are already in shops or been sold will be supplied (seperately) with the new ECU and 12 hole injector free of charge. It will be up to the dealer if they choose to charge to fit it.
All future '12 TE250/310 arriving in Australia will already have it fitted.
This is an Aussie deal and am not sure if this goes for the rest of the world. We don't get the TCX here and all bike already have the exhaust fitted as standard.

My dealer has a 'Meo Replica' 250 for a good price which looks great. I did notice that it had a 'yellow' injector fitted although i guess it might be a '11 model....... not sure. Anybody have the spec of this bike? Edit- found the spec on Husky website ;)
I believe the 310 would better suit me anyway.

Nice and responsive, I stalled it towards the end quite a few times but my battery was gone and I was a bit tired. The injector alone I think is worth it, but the ecu as well would be nice.
Off the bottom it was very clean, handy for rocks and logs, it was nice and torquey hill climbing ( new tire helps to ).
We did 20 miles in 5 hours, so it was tight enough.

THAT'S WHAT I LIKE TO HEAR!!!... thanks guys! I can't wait for mine to arrive... Hope my 250 gets the same good response to the upgrade.

Encouraging news all right. I too will be performing one or more of these mods when it all shakes out. But I still have reservations.

In Blackdiamonds case, he is using a TXC ECU, whereas the Husky factory ECU/injector offering (PN 8000h7557) is for a TE, albeit a re-mapped one. The TXC and the re-mapped TE ECUs are not the same, are they?

In kiwitxc's case, it could be that the 12 port injector alone worked so well in his bike because the New Zealand-issued TXC/TE ECU mappings may not have to deal with North American smog requirements.

I look forward to Laura's experience. I want the same thing from my TE310 as she wants from her TE250. Smooth, linear ignition from small throttle openings. I have NO issues with the torque already available, nor do I wish for more mid and top. It screams everywhere with just the power-up, JD tuner and stock pipe.

At lower speeds, the FI misses and blats just when I need precise metering at SLOW switchbacks and other situations where I have to go from closed throttle to just-a little-throttle while in motion.

    Hey Aaron8,
Yes, that's exactly what mine does. I just found out that my parts are in and we're going to the dealer on Saturday to install and test it out. So I will let you know. The mechanic at our dealer says he just did a TE 250 and it was way better... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm not too sure what ECU it is. I thought the one we ordered was for the TXC but maybe not. I will find out on Saturday and let you know.

this weekend i rode my buddies TE310 with a JD tuner he got from me. Runs real good but we decided to pull the spark arrestor out and try it. With that setup (stock exhaust with screen / restricter out) the bike runs pretty much perfect. Will not stall, rips hard everywhere and flat runs great. Amazing how you can lug it and how it will pull up hills from very low RMM in a tall gear. He could not be more happy.

Play with the idle range and the accelerator pump settings on the JD tuner. We got Adams bike to run pretty much perfect and almost impossible to stall.

Thanks Laura and Motosportz for your input.

Moto, I have to run a sparky. There's no other way I can ride. The JD tuner, along with power-up, did indeed make it run GREAT 99% of the time. I have set the TPS, and WOT is 101.4 after adjusting the butterfly stop.

I do adjust/test those two JD parameters a lot. It seems that the tuner is not capable of taking care of the issue of which I spoke. I'm not expert, though, and I'd love to hear some other people's successful settings.

A FMF muffler might flow better and have a sparky and get you where you need.

Thanks !!, I had a serious play today & tweaking the accelerator pump made a real diff, I'd really just been tweaking the 4 throttle settings until I read your post.
