It is certainly a beautiful piece of artwork and really I think you should stop now and place in your man cave on the wall. Works of art should not be soiled as we do to all things we love ????

I assume you greased everything like swing arm, headstem as they need it and linkages on both of our were bone dry from new.

I managed to get hour meter in a neat space below tank but above carb hanging from a piece of 25mm x 25mm light gauge ally off coil bracket I think.

Looks really great. They are pretty special when new.

    still admiring....

I was surprised by the amount of grease in my linkages, swing arm and steering head when I checked them, looked like a black molybdenum (graphite) type grease. Maybe they improved QC in the factory, or Hall's did it. I'll be pulling it apart soon to send the suspension to ZipTy for a revalve so I'll grease it with BelRay waterproof grease again.

Anyway, thanks for all the compliments guys.

Steve at Hall's told me they typically take one of the first of each model and look over all the areas that need grease(linkage, swingarm, steering head, etc) and see how they come from the factory. They then know what areas need attention on them and repack with grease before they ever hit the showroom floor. Shows true dedication to sell a product in the best state it can be. Halls is awesome, just wish I could teleport them to LA(Lower Alabama).

Firedog, your tiddler looks so awesome, I thought I had gone a little crazy on mine but you smoked me on blinging it out!

    Hey Guys,
I've decided to make available the take off parts from this project. The parts are all unused as the bike was not ridden before completion. PM me with reasonable offers if interested, or you have any questions about availability.
    Thanks

Like the new graphics - a lot ( now both sides are done.. )
You are missing a fly wheel weight and spacer by the way - I may be selling one soon
Id also think about fork seal covers .

doesn't stall as easy I think & lugs better way down low(low rpm hill climbs/tech stuff). helps keep it just off the verge of stalling, doesn't stall as easy at idle type rpm. less clutch abuse possibly I guess also. I stand to be corrected here though.

That is one sweet looking bike, for sure!

I said it was going to sit in storage until my 09' was dead, but I lied and did some moto with the 14' cr144 the other weekend. I really, really liked it. Suspension was tight, but felt better than I expected for a zero hour bike sprung for a skinny kid. Definitely lots of potential with this platform.

I only wish they stayed new looking forever!

rockdancer, I have considered a FWW. The guys @ Steahly advised an 8oz weight. Let me know. I also found the foot pegs to be a little slippery. Might have to get a set of Fastways.

I will weigh mine but its closer to 12
A Wr flywheel weight is more again
I had those pegs -liked the looks but not sure they were that good
    Pivot pegs work really well

Still waiting for the ride report

I have the pivot pegs on my bike as well and I couldn't be happier with them. Fly wheel on a Wr is heavier than the one on a Cr. I think it's heavier to help with the lights but I could be wrong. I personally shaved my fly wheel down on my Wr instead of putting a heavier one on it. It still lugs down really low without stalling when in really tight stuff.

Just my two thoughts about the fly wheel topic.

from memory the old wr flywheel is .4kg heavier than the Cr one . which is around 16 oz - so a 10 or 12 oz weight is not as much as the WR weight
I have sold my bike so not sure whether I will be keeping the FWW

Don't let your new bike have a smooshed radiator PC! :naughty: Get some 7602 Racing radiator guards/braces in red today. I had to have Myler's fix my brittle ones on my WR300 after a very mild get off.

    Oh and nice bike!

Hey rockdancer-Let me know about that FWW, I'm interested.

Sorry about the lack of a ride report. I had a pretty serious right elbow surgery on 2/19 and it's not real strong yet. The Dr. has forbidden me to ride anything. But I'm putting around the yard putting some break in time on it. I'll do a full report, and video when I can get in the woods.

I love Fastway pegs but stopped using them recently as they tear up my boots at an alarming rate.
