TE/TC 14' te300 runs for 5 minutes and dies

My 1998 Te610 ad the same issues with the ignition side letting gunk/funk in. I just resigned myself to clean it out after a wet/muddy , deep water crossing , or even extremely dusty ride . I kept the weep hole open and used compressed air , and then water if dirty enough followed by wd40 and more compressed air to keep the rust and corrosion to a minimum . I believe that bike still has the same ignition in it today and still runs .
