Yeah, next of my worries..... Sure hope they get some V Force reeds done by spring.

I might make a corporate call to headquarters to let them know their stock reeds warped.

If they get enough complaints they usually will do a recall.

MotoTassinari is saying February. So expect March. They are pretty motivated to get it done before KTM/Husqvarna are forced to do a recall. Lots of complaints to dealers at this point. I would get your order in for the V-Force 4 now. The warping of the stock cage with time and use is a real problem.

Going in the oven after tape removal.

Now I'm glad I stuck my neck out and tried something different.

Also did Evans water pump cover.

Here is clutch cover on bike with water pump cover.

Think going to run in to Fastenal and start replacing these bolts with some Stainless Allen head bolts.

They rusting already after couple months.

    Ta Da!

This is a lot of work but I learned along the way.

    This should be the motor.

Not gonna see much cause pipe and tank hide most of it.

Not 100% sold on black stripe up cylinder with Husqvarna.......

I put it on where I can remove at some point.

    Walt?

Gonna order my top end gasket kit and new piston, tomorrow.

What thickness base gasket are you recommending I throw on there, so I can swap out down road to the RK Tech head insert.

    My stock gasket was .25

    Darin,

You want to get the gasket that sets your deck to piston height at 0.00mm. Mine was spot on from the factory although I think it was the next step wider than yours. Regardless, RK Tek will create the head to your spec if you tell them what your X dimension is currently. I think that I would just have them re-create the same head as they sent me. My compression jumped ~25 PSI static pressure with their head which should be good for you too at near sea level. I would definitely talk to them before you order. My current compression is 167 psi as compared to 140 psi with the stocker. I have a very good quality tester that I have checked against very accurate pressure gauges.

My bike sounds great with the new head but I can't butt test it until we get a break in the snow. We've had more snow sitting on the Valley floor this year than we have had in quite a few years. Unfortunately the mountains are still below average and need a lot more. There is only about 3' of actual snow depth on top of the pass where we get our irrigation water from. It should be closer to 4'-5' for this time of year or at the least more water content.
