How did it handle at Geneseo Sunday? Saturday was a bit sloppy but we still had a blast!

    Reveille,

We just went 3 hours practicing at FVOR.

I will be this Sunday in Geneseo.

I wondered if it was gonna be lil slick for you guys last weekend.

I paid more than that for my 300 and for the first time ever I don't regret spending that kind of money. Some things are just worth it. I hated the thought at first but once you ride it that'll all go away.

I first had sticker shock! Thought that's a lot money and prob have to do some engine stuff, suspension make over and etc....

Then after I got seat time on it. Suspension is perfect, engine rips, bike feels as light as a bicycle, pretty rider roomy, turns on a dime, flick it like a trials bike and electric start fires quick in first gear with clutch in. This is bike you can push hard for three hours and you don't need a nap under a tree some where. So adding up all the money you have to put in most bikes, to me.... Been worth every cent. I would not be a happy camper if I paid that then had to put $1000 out trying to get suspension dialed. I also knew that if I put my modded carb on there, that I'd get a lot more out of it from bottom to top. My next step is to try the head insert and fatty pipe.
Bad news: if they keep producing bikes like this, then everyone will start getting them. Boys FC 250 is a darn rocket too!

Looks like most 2017 models are getting recalled for defective slave cylinder in front brake.

Yeah, I hear ya. I was thinking along those lines in terms of getting an FE501. I could get a good deal on an end of year 16 and have room to dump $1000+ into suspension etc. But with the reports of how good the forks are (finally!) It seems logical to wait on the 17s and reap the benefits of the all around improvements.

Indeed. I should've waited two more years. But my 15 is pretty dialed now and the only real problem I had was the 4cs issues like most. Otherwise it's been one hell of a bike. I sure would like to ride the new xplor forks and also like a shot at those aer forks as well.

Ive got a deposit down on one as we speak, hows the low end? I dislocated my shoulder a couple weeks ago so im not sure ill really get it past the break in stage before winter hits. Good to hear the suspension is sorted out, one of my main reasons for getting off my 06 ktm 250 (suspension and too much bike for what I ride). Front fender looks great trimmed up, first thing i noticed was the ugly fender on it & pictured how I could cut it. Appreciate all the pics and reply's in here!

You will like the low end and you will like the top end. Just go with like the 14 front motocross fender and motocross plate.

I'm still testing mine. First, throw those Dunlop AT 81 tires in trash can! Rear doesn't bite and you will skid down hills, you engine will not brake to help stop momentum, and braking is bad with them. The front bites good in dry stuff. As soon as you hit mud or wet glazed stuff. Front is like on sheet ice. Rear was rounded off at 4 hours and now front is rounded off at 6 hours. Only tire I could find local was rear Bridgestone X30 Battlecross. It's just a crutch to get different rear. It hooked up and braked well. I was kinda impressed. Prob go 216 AA fatty golden cause like that tire.
I'm going to go up prob one size springs in front. But valving in front and rear is perfect.
