No luck in York, lots of parts bikes, a few cheap Husky solid core rebuilders, not many parts. Also a couple of 360rt on the concourse they were very nice. And an 1974 Indian mx74, as nice as mine, though mine is a 1974 me76. I wonder where he got the throttle cable, I've been looking for yrs. All I bought was this tool bag. But I don't know how it mounts, I'll have to make one for it unless someone has seen one mounted, 20170122_160442_resized.jpg 20170122_160455_resized.jpg 20170122_160507_resized.jpg 20170122_161018_resized.jpg no ID anywhere on it.

Sorry Crash, I didn't see that your stub was from a 1976 360wr, I must have been blinded by my rage at the 30mm seal:p. Yeah the crank is probably from a later motor. I could order a 30-52-7mm seal from a later motor with the larger pin but after finding the smaller pin from Hall's, I bought another seal and will assemble another crank for this motor. This crank is trued to .0005 (I bought another set of dial indicators) with a double set up on live center. And after the hours it took to get there, I don't want to take it apart. So waiting for the big pin from Weisco, gonna try fixing the tank in the mean time.

OK on a more serious note, I just received the parts from Hall's. The left 28mm stub (kinda crusty but polished up nice) and a new 28mm Viton seal. Let me try to explain my problem ...I have four 450 cranks...the first is in the frame of a 360rt I bought out of a barn in PA, it is number 2021 0008 (I'm looking for a 1973 360rt motor) the second I bought on ebay as a spare for the parts in case the barn motor needs them. Then I bought another MJ Husky 450 in nice condition and complete. I bought another crank and it is the most respectable, good enough to true to .0005, but the left stub is 30mm, not 28mm. I disassembled the original motor and No happiness it looked like it was under water longer than Jacques Cousteau, and the rod has very deep depressions in the big and small end bores from rust reminiscent of the Titanic(near the start of this post). Then today I disassembled the ebay crank and found the rod was SMOKED like cigar on Rush Limbaughs porch! All this is for the motor that is numbered 2021 0008... so I would like it to be as original as possible. Trust me... I have screwed up a few motors in my time. So I called John at Husky Restorations ands ordered a 30mm seal so I can Finally dream of assembly, not the perfect motor I wanted, but all I can do At This Time. I'm not planning on running it at this time and want to get the other 450 ready for riding this season. Looks like I have a crap load of crank parts I won't need unless I find a couple for rods. UGGH!!

Tried to start the 450wr today. Hard to start with 50psi, but I was rewarded with a single backfire. Does anyone know the top and bottom of compression for a 450. I looked around and could not fine the numbers.

wow, 50??? is that with the throttle open kicking until it quits climbing? should be over 150 psi. from mid 70s up to late 80s almost all swede huskies are right around 180 with a fresh motor. down to 160 psi is enough for the bike to start running rich and want a leaner main..

Yeah FIVE OHHH. Or a HUGE 75psi with a syringe of oil. These things are killing me. It's going into storage til I finish the 1st motor. Hopefully this year.

20140309_125213.jpg Sweet ride! Did you change the timing chain adjuster to manual? I put a wide range o2 after the collector to make it easy to tune. They are so much fun to ride. Pulls my fat ass all over this area. And you can put a 6 pack under the seat!

i have watched for the telltale nicks on the pressure plate, have yet to see any...i do have the kit sitting in my stash box!
i have a bunch of kwicks stuff installed, but im still waiting on that to go in.
i have it jetted pretty close with the airbox delete and full system but think it would be fruitful to do a few dyno pulls. the wideband is very useful i bet!

Yeah mine was terrible, I still look for a cheap basket from time to time. I LOVE having the wide band in front of me LIVE, it tells me when to go to reserve:D. I haven't taken it to dyno, but I am happy with the way it grunts through traffic. If in doubt throttle out!

Hi All, long week indeed! Looks like John forgot to send the 30mm-52mm-7mm seal this week. So Being the impatient type I said Screw It and disassembled the close to perfect tune on the crank with the 30mm left stub. I installed the new 28mm stub I got from Halls, the big end bearing was perfect no heat signature visible and the rod was perfect as well. P.S. I've got a super secret email for yall after I try it myself, let's just say lots a early parts! So I got it together and tuned. Check it out...
