Sure looks clean, wheels are gorgeous. Are you going to keep the 74 forks and Highpoint tank on it? Also, where did you get the footpegs, AMS?

I vote to keep the High Point (Wassle) tank and black leg forks.

I'll keep this tank on it but have to find someone or way to de-dentify it. There was a pic of one on the Cafe with a champion sticker on it and I want to replicate it but can't seem to find the pic? Any help is welcome! As for the Pegs they were in my pile and I had them zinc plated. I like them and they fit right in. I'm going to use aluminum fenders but still can't find my front mount. As for the 450 in the background I thought I had a Motor built for it But only have my 0008 motor on the shelf so I have to start building one, I think I have all I need and another 6 speed in the piles, Thanks Crash!!!

Thanks Crash but I think I remember it being polished and no paint and on a bike.

Got the forks rebuilt with the new sliders. Thanks for the Parts Marty!! Had to swipe the rebound springs from some other forks. Drilled the lower inside washers to 10mm and added new seals and cleaned up wipers. So now to rebuild the other set!! Looking for a set of rebound springs. Got a ton to blast and powder and get zinc plated .

Those black leg forks are rare, key giveaway are the four ribs on each side of the brake plate lugs, and the sliders are 1/2" longer than previous black fork sliders. Its my understanding that they were available in 77 only on the 250WR, and the Auto. The spindles have a larger diameter plus 8 inches of travel. I've got a set on my 75 450 with Race Tech emulators and springs. The improvement is impressive once they're tuned to the rider level and terrain.

Chris, why do those fork spindles have top out springs? The piston ring makes the springs unnecessary. You'll loose an inch or more of travel.

Thanks crash I did not know that I assume the Springs were supposed to be on there I can't find a drawing of one without the springs good to know I'll take them apart and remove the springs I bought these lower section sliders separately so I'm amazed they're both the same I guess I got lucky thanks for the help

Bummer that you have to take 'em apart. For clarification I've attached a pic of the 77 250xc suspension exploded parts view.

What is 14 I don't have that. And I have a single spring. Will that be ok?

14 is a dirt scraper. Most replacement seals have them as a small lip at the top, so an individual one isn't necessary. The fork rebound spring is one piece, don't know why they split it in two.

Looks like a wheel hub axle spacer that goes between the wheel bearings. 15mm is the OD of the rear axle.

It fits a front and rear axle I have. Looks too short to be a rear inside spool pc. I'll check it out .

Still screwing around with this bike. Bought an India tank for cheep. Not the quality if Husqvarna, but not dented either. Still not sure what I will use.
