1976 175 Cross Country Project

Update : Got my front wheel spokes from Buchanan's Friday, laced up the wheel Fri night and will take it to Fletcher's Monday to be trued and get new tire and tube mounted. Tank is being detailed and the end of this restoration is near. I will post pics of the bike soon and will also post videos of the first ride after completion.

The above pics show the 175 project as it is today ! Now all it needs is the tank to be finished and she will be ready to enjoy ! Can't wait to really ride it and see what I have been missing out on....

Yeah, bike looks great & the job you did on the wheels attributed a lot to it.

Buchanan's stainless spokes and nipples. Turtlewax aluminum polish and some elbow grease prettied up the rims and the front hub. I am really happy with the results. Thanks for the compliments - this has been a long project.

It's a early model turbo the mice run in the cage forcing air in the carb. Lmao.

The cost, the truth,,,,,,

My misses was complaining on how much it costs me and my son spend to go riding/bikes ect. I load up the we go riding and keep the kid out of trouble. My neighbor chimes in who's kid is always in trouble says her lawyer costs $1,000 ever visit for her son. My misses got the message. Does the cost matter? I never count up the cost. It's quality time spent at home too. I could be at the pub

Maxr nice job she's a purdy one. The fruits of our labor pays off we make them look great then get them muddy.

To polish aluminum I use the simi chrome polish. You can buff it till it shines. We use it on chrome too.

simichrome is pretty awesome stuff

Another awesome polish is a product called blue magic.

Great history of restoring a 175 GP. I just picked up a similar project and hope to have as much success as you had. Mine sat out in the weather and had water in the case because it was missing the cylinder and piston. I will try document my progress like you did.

Thanks for the kind words on my restoration. It has been lots of work but also lots of fun ! I love old Husky's and have wanted another for a while. I should be completing this one in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Looks strange seeing passenger footpegs on your bike.
