The 300 is all pimped and ready for the 'king of the castle' - Farleigh. Not getting it dirty again before then, as I have committed to doing some Enduros around Europe on the WR300...

Good to know you let the wife buy your Husky parts for you. She must realise a sound investment when she sees one!!!

itc is "heaven on a stick" I love its plusho armchair ride and it soaks up the slammers that come along...

I could revalve it a tad to stiffen it up but its so nice and comfy I don't stress to much:D it could probably be a lot better but the reality is im not sure if I could tell....

Hello I'm new here. I had 25 vintage husqvarna' s from '72-'86 and I never seen a husky frame crack or break. These were manufactured from the Swedish chrome moly steel.

Depends on how fast you were going when it flipped end over end

Granted there tough, but I had a broke 360 frame & seen pictures of Brad Lackey's
    broken frame & swingarm

After two knee operations I sold off all my husqvarna dirtbikes the trailer loads of parts.
    I regret parting with my,

    79 390CR My exercise bike I lost 60# in 3 months.
    86 400 WXE
    80 250CR
    79 250 OR
    83 250 CR
83 430 WR went to my son.

ALL of them were restored and shipped around the USA to good homes. I shipped three autos, one running the rest were parts to a rider who had one leg who wanted to still ride. My son started the bike for him and man he could ride just like any one of us. I didn't want to part with the autos but it was a way to give something back. He was from PA.

Being a lead engineering tech and a welder/fabricator I installed a single shock in a '82 CR frame using an '87 rear swing arm. I had to cut the lower link in half to make it longer and adjustable using grade 8 threaded rod with jam nuts. The orginal twin shock mounts on the 82 frame were strong enough in the orginal box setup looking at the rear of the frame view.

I have pics of everything but don't know how to scan and post them.

This was a time I had to scour the USA for new and used parts. It was to a point I got fed up trying to find husky parts.

There was a source for husky pistols and gaskets in Oregon but I can't find him two decades later. I think it was gresen or gersen Oregon?

I was into husqvarna when they weren't cool. But any other brand only seen my 390cr from the rear view. We are so many leave the riding area cause they couldn't keep up. I believe there still the fastest top speed bikes on the planet today.

Do they still offer a newer husqvarna bike like my '79 250 or?

With the first three gears wide ratio and the last three gears close ratio?

I rode my husky bikes hard but that Polaris 400L quad threw my 300lb body over the bars three times. Broke my ribs three times. It proves dirtbikes are safer than quads you only picking one path instead of two with a quad.

they stopped using 6 speeds in the early early 2000s, my 95 still has the wide 6 speed..
the later bikes have close ratio 5 speeds, whether its a cr or wr.

We were the under dog riding husqvarna dirtbikes. Even though they only seen them from the back but they won't admit it.

I should of made up some "KX" green kill stickers for my '81 cr 250 husqvarna. She wooped everything newer in sight.
