im not sure, the rods seem to hold up much better than the cams.
you can always use the slightly shorter clutch arm as well if you experience problems with complete clutch engagements due to the longer arm.

Your question about the origin of the levers was answered above. You can weld up and grind the cams on the assemblies to correct the wear.

Anyone got a copy of this bulletin?
Thanks Justin and jim, I'll weld them both up and see how they feel. I'm not sure which levers I have I haven't got that far yet.

I checked the bulletins that MOFO generously host (Thanks MOFO) and found 2.8mm btdc an 2.64mm btdc, using a gauge in the plug hole. Is there really that much difference in .16mm? I can not find the number for 1983

Not much difference. .16mm is less than .008"

Yeah, it's already been welded, right in the insignia. And a nice dent under the insignia. I'm really looking for a later style cover with the removable clutch cover. This will do for now, but like a lot of this bike it's pretty beat. I got the frame and swing arm back from the blaster, so I have to do some welding and a little cleanup of the original welds in spots. Lots of splatter and such. I also got my powder so should be white next week. Thanks guys. Chris

    Also, Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE!!

An artisan can weld and hand carve the insignia. You can also use JB Weld and save the case from heat distortion. I only weld now when the repair is stressed structural.

Yeah, I got a whole setup, BUT I found a platter nearby that will do all that for 100$! It would take me 2 days and it still wouldn't turn out as nice as the job they do. I still have to check each piece to file ridges and straighten stuff. What you put in is what you get out, just shinny. We're movin' on up, to the east side!!
