Let us know how the Electrex performs? The Maico looks nice, made fore a purpose like the Husky's

Thanks!! Yes Ive done the work but it is actually very original. Frame has never been painted just tidied it up a little. Beautiful bikes and great to ride but buggers to start from cold!!

Yes I agree the Maico's do look right  An older friend had one when I was younger so I always lusted after one....Eventually I found this one. Been in the back of a garage for about 10 years when I bought it and that was 15 years ago now!!!

Im running the Electrex on a 250 already. Runs and starts great. Starting the 250 had been hit and miss before. Now I dont stress so much.

    Easy to fit too.

Thats why even though this bike was starting fine on the motoplat I swapped an Electrex in.

Back in 73 when I was 13 my older cousin raced a coffin tanked 420 even let me have a go, that is when I was hooked. always remember it stalled when you shut off, the same as the 490 (like yours) a mate had when I had my YZ seven years later. Great memories.
My 430 (88 XC) starts a lot better since I did the decomp mod but the motoplat spark is still very a poor light blue white at kicking speed (plug resting on the head while kicking)

Well finally got my hands on 2 pairs of mx spec front forks. Not only were the WR shorter but the Crome was shot too. So shall I re do the fork legs white or leave them unpaintec?

    image.jpg

Also got an mx length swingarm that I plan to try some time.

Fork bottoms white and husqvarna lettering blue.

Maybe get one of those Tm design chain guides like I did and the yellow dc plastics tensioner wheel.

Give it some yellow with blue chain?

since they didn't make a 400 CR, do what you want. make it a 1 off " WORKS PROTOTYPE". I say put a set of those WP 4054's on it. but you might have a snag hooking up the DLS front brakes.

Funny we turned up a yellow tensioner wheel for one of my 250s. I will look for a yellow DC one though probably less effort! I love the white bikes but sometimes they need a more yellow and blue like you have done on your bike

I like the idea of the blue fork lettering too but am worried my skills are not up to it

    Damaged pipe

Resurrected pipe blown out and welded back up. One day a nice aftermarket pipe would be nice but for now this is it.

    New controls for the beast

Also made a schoolboy error as I had not fitted the headstock bearings or shells. So yesterday I picking the bike up off the stand and turning it upside down to fit the bottom shell!! That was fun!! :)
