There isn't room to put it at the head stock on the 04 frame without hitting the forks. You could put it behind the number plate but that would be a mess also. I would opt for adding wiring harness and mount it in the airbox area. I mounted a Ktm cdi horizontally where you have yours. One bolt through the mounting hole and zip ties and foam backing made it a pretty decent mount. That cdi is quite a bit smaller than yours. Good luck as that is a nice unit.

Thanks All for the feedback much appreciated!
I think moving it is the right thing to do, as wallybean suggests I think I'll look around the air box for a suitable location

Any thing I need to be mindful of when extending the cables & adding additional connectors.

I would solder the butt connections and then heat shrink tubing for insulation. Keep the stock connections at the ends. I have done crimp connectors that have loosened up over time and caused an issue even inside heat shrinking.

Going to mount inside the air box at the back.
Would be nice to have some connectors on the extension to the wiring loom but wallybean you have confirmed my fears so going for soldered joints & heatshrink.

Changed the fork oil today, I have gold valves to go in but they will have wait until next time.

Each for took 430ml for an oil height of 130mm, does that sound about right?
Also once the oil had been changed, fork reassembled I compressed each leg individually and made changes to the adjusters and the left leg rebound adjuster doesn't seem to be doing anything, I'm pretty sure they both worked before hand, have I missed something here?

    Backed off rebound & compression
    Removed cap & Spring
    Drained oil
Cycled rod a few times and drained more oil
Left to drain for a while upside down
Pour in new oil and cycle rod a few times
    Adjust oil height
    Install Spring & cap

So its been a while but I have made some more progress, she started on the 3rd kick :D
    IMG_4062.JPG

Have run through a couple of heat cycles, still have a few minor bits to do but hope to get out soon and get the Lectron dialled.

Opted to run on the standard ignition for now and may add the dual map later down the line - I just want to get out & ride it now, its been apart for too long:rolleyes:

Anyone shed any light on the fork questions in my previous post?

    130 is about right.... I've ran 125-135

are you saying the adjuster isnt moving or just isnt making a difference?

    did you bleed it good?

    Thanks race!

Adjuster moves, just didn't seem to do anything.

Didn't bleed them until they where back on the bike, could that have been the issue?

Awesome looking bike mate! I bought a bundle and a 165 kit with exhaust happened to be in there. Unfortunately my bike was stolen before I had chance to fit it! As huskys are rare as unicorn s***t in the uk I'm going to a Yam so looking to sell the kit, anyone have an idea of what kind of price o should be asking? Cheers

I may take it off your hands for the right price as I still have a unriden 125 buried under a pile of crap that I have to do something with, and with the resale value of these old Huskys not being worth a $hit It make make it sellable.
Pm me with a price if you want

Sorry to hear about your bike! There's far too much of it going on in the UK at the moment.

Like johnnyboy said get listed in the classifieds on here I'm sure it will sell, I also have another 125 half in bits I have to do something with so I may be interested if the price is right.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I think 9 bikes stolen in the last 2 weeks in my area. 3 weeks before season starts aswell. Sucks that I'd only owned the bike a week :/
I have no idea what the kits worth so I might just list it on eBay as there's a bit of interest. Going to hold on a week or two as I'm waiting for the powervalves to arrive, so until then I'm on the lookout for a cheap 125.

List the 165 kit online and see if the thief tries to buy it... or steal it again

Buy another Husky and install your 165 kit.
Not sure where you in the UK or what sort of budget you have but there's couple on Gumtree at the moment:thumbsup:

I'm forever watching ebay & gumtree etc and the 00-04's generally go for £750-850
I little while back we picked up a 98 (same engine) for £350, needed tidying but was running.

Cheers mate, my budget is very low until I get the insurance for my exc 125. Just messaged about the 2004 bike, looks tidy. I've got a full spare 125 kit aswell so if I could stick with husky it'd be great. Got about £1500 worth of parts in a bundle for £450!

Are the older bikes any good as I've never even seen one in person round here (East Yorkshire) until I had my WR 125 2010 a few years ago.Bikes seem to have gone up in price the last year after looking about!

    Thanks for the links Freezergeezer!

    No problem:cool:

I like the 00-05 style & geometry, and from what I've read the 06-08 wasn't as good but the 09 on was better (perhaps some else will confirm).
Engines are virtually the same from 98 to 2012/13.

Did you buys the spares bundle of ebay? I saw one a few weeks back and was temped, had a 144 & 165 cylinder, 200SX modded pipe and shed loads of other bits.

Cheers mate, the guy who has the bike with the blue wheels has replied so will see what comes of that.
Yeah I got the bundle minus the 144 kit. I'd bought a 2013 cr 125 and was making it more woods friendly, got the hand guards and sump plate on then it got stolen the next day. Most bits in the bundle are packaged up new. In 2 minds of just selling it still though. Bit of a shame going from a 2013 to a 2004 haha

Spent all day Woking on it today and finally finished, only taken me 6 months!

Had the forks off and checked them over, the rebound issue has gone, must have just needed a few more cycles and air bleeding out.

    New fork guards, hand gaurds.

Was a little spluttery & boggy until warm but had a quick ride and seems to run very well, don't know if I even need to touch the lectron! Has anyone else had a lectron running out of the box with no need to adjust? Although I did only run down the road and back, will get a better idea when I get it out for a propper run

It should be pretty close as sent from Lectron. Usually only needs a 1/4 turn one way or the other, usually leaner if anything. Definitely do a plug chop to make sure you aren't too lean. Power jet will quickly tell you if it needs adjustment on top.
