so, since the WR125 i wanted is now sold, i found a used '09 WR250 locally that sounds really decent and from what i've been reading here, the motor should be bullet proof.

the question: does the WR250 really weigh 240lbs?! That's like ~30lbs heavier than my TC250. why is the WR so portly?

I'm one of the guys from Canada that got your "ride". I can hardly wait to hit the trails. There are afew other 09's around if you get lucky.
Lot's of good info here, I want to get the bike set up right.

not sure whether to say CONGRATS! or YOU SUCK! hahaa. i'm having a hell of a time acquiring an '09 WR125 + 144cc kit! all the sick deals are on the other side of the country... and i hate that i have to drop $300+ to get it to run as good as all you guys say.

i went and looked at the WR250 a few more times. just not sure if it's too much for what i want in my next bike. it's just as tall as my TC250 but quite a bit heavier. bums me out because my '97 CR250R set up for woods had a killer motor.

    dont give up!
hall's has an 09 125, new and used with an fmf pipe etc, according to their site.

at yer weight the stock suspenders may work fine as is. clean fluid makes a big diff.
    mine caburetes perfectly, stock mikuni.
it's twitchy with the legs pulled up to the 3rd ring with my settings. i run mine at the first ring and it still steers bitchen.
the clutch is bomb proof and literaly can squeeze it with my pinky finger.
getta solid rear rotor for mud. brakes are abuse proof. i smoke mine on some giant seat suckers out here, rotor is still light grey.
in the tight flat stuff you can motor along just fine and make great time short shifting between corners using zero energy yawning at the lack of drama steering with two fingers.
get a run at steep hills, it dont grunt like the TC, momentum is key. it'll lug but, it just aint got the torqeable mass a 360/500 2t does.
it's fun to go back and forth between the 07 TC250 and my 09 WR125 as the 125 feels like a little rag doll gettin shook in a bull terrier's mouth and is rediculously flickable and i so love that part due to the tiny mass of the engine. and as stated it'll make you a better rider once you suss getting over ugly stuff with it you normally sit down and chugg over with the TC. on the once in a while super-ugly-steep long technical stuff you work more keeping or bulding momentum but everywhere else you save so much energy going the same speed as something heavier with more power when turning a bunch you have more left to rip with. and it does rip....mreeeeeeeep! and when ya go back to the TC for a romp it's like a power lounger...best of both worlds.

it's been a pleasure working with Randy and the guys at Hall's. i can't wait to get my dirty mits on this thing!!

thanks to everyone that's helped me make the decision... i'll have plenty more questions after the 3ft of snow has vanished from my yard [IMG]

oh, and about Iceland... yeah, ive had enough snowblowing for the year. thankfully i dont have any roof issues like we're seeing all around us. new collapses every day. insane.

i usually carve out a track in my backyard to rip around on my pitbike but my snowblower won't even cut through it! and i've got a serious Ariens blower.

cabin fever? yeah, i gots it.
