An extra hot exhaust *CAN* be a sign of lean fuel mixture settings.

I'm running on rich side according to AFR. Still burning my pants to midpipe... Valve clearances are on the loose side, just in specs. Stock exhaust cans with 50mm perforated tube.

Engine/water is not too hot(if ibeat can be trusted), fan rarely spins. Only if I idle for 5-10min or so

I did a service on the 510 yesterday 69 hours on the clock 2500 miles on the OD and the bikes runs better with age, The oil gets changed every 500 miles with a new filter and I clean the metal screens, all the engine bolts get checked for the correct torque, the bike gets hooked up to i beat and TPS
and CO gets checked for proper settings, the valves have yet
to need any adjustment, and they get checked every other oil change, when i change the oil it comes out fairly clean now,
no metal in the screens or the filter. The engine stays dry no oil leaks.
This is my first husky and i am very impressed with this motor, very strong I use this bike as a Daily Rider it does not get raced nor do i flog it at all
The only problems I've have had has been the fuel pump, went out due to the check valve in the gas cap malfunctioned causing the pump to get hot, all that was a easy fix, I would recommend this bike for any one who would want a hi powered light weight putter for in town use or putten out in the country,I have never had this bike out on the inner state hi ways too many crazy,s around here, but for what i use it for it is well worth the maintenance for what i get in return,it boils down for me to every ten gallons of gas burned it gets a oil change and service,
I get 51 to 53 MPG and the fun you can have on this bike is priceless.
At this rate this motors life span could be quite long ( we will see.)

Mine is race only and lives it's life 7500-10000rpm, has about 20 hrs and still powers on!
A street ridden motor should easily go on for a LONG time.

Im loving my SMR too :) have 8900km milage on it now and zero engine problems.
Still on Motorex Cross Power engine oil and K&N oil filter changed every 1000km.
Now my front rotor is bent due to unknown reason and now it makes my front braking jerky.
Will update more when i change to EBC front rotor, race water pump and silicone hoses, and full titanium exhausts

Yea TE mid pipe, super weight savings compared to the stockers i pulled off. seat of the pants says yea more power than stock, or its just beacuse its louder and revs up faster now.......
