When is the AMA gonna do something about Reed? He is a punk if I ever saw one.

Awesome race! Best I've seen in awhile. If RV, Stewart, Reed, Canard and Dungey stay healthy, it may be the best year ever. [IMG]
A little drama goes a long ways in sports and keeps us talking. Good stuff

Reed is far from a punk... and I am not a Reed fan... JS could have shut off, he gave Reed the chance to get that close and go for it, so JS loses...

I must disagree demi, it was at best bad judgement by Reed and more likely a deliberate takeout. Good thing he went down too so it cost him something. Given the line he took it isnt clear that Reed would have made the corner cleanly all by himself.

I think fines are appropriate in these situations, and repeat offenses should lead to increasing length suspensions.

Looks like Reed just used really poor judgement. I guess he thought that he would close the door on Stewart without getting tangled up with him. But there was nowhere for Stewart to go except into Reed, so I guess in that sense, Reed got what he deserved right there.

Reed took out Stewart, and sadly looks like the way Motocross is heading. It didnt look like reed could have made the turn no matter what, It looked like
It was more than a little bump, but a full on take him out. Sadly, I agree with 99raptor, there needs to be some more rules, Reed should have been disquilfied.
Is this the only way these guys are going to be able to beat Stewart??? Reed is a punk....

ah..I see where you guys think that, but JS has had plenty of his own sketchy decisions...good fun to discuss and disagree!! And I will edit this by saying it is good to see some fire in these guys... I would much rather see this, than years past when everyone was demoralised by the 3rd lap and JS checks out... great stuff guys.

Stewart had options even though Reed clearly had no angle...and he chose to run into him instead of pulling up...Reed is clearly in the "wrong", but this is Supercross. Any new ruler/fines/penalties will be a net negative for the sport, because it leaves some half-wit administrators to determine intent and so forth, which will dampen competitiveness. There is a reason the NFL is often referred to as the No Fun League...

As far as who is the bigger punk, Reed and Stewart are in the same "class"...only fanboys would see it otherwise...

Its pretty clear Reed's intent was to take stewart out, but Reed missed and ended up taking stewart and hisself out. Stewart could have backed off, and I think Reed would have gone down anyway,
Then Stewart could have used Reed and his bike for traction, Its going to be intersesting in the next few SX's. Hopefully Stewart doesnt pull the same kind of stuff to win later. It was a great race thats for sure.

"It was a great race thats for sure."

...and that is the main thing right? I agree, don't want to see a demo derby... but Mike, this is a great season of racing so far!! These guys appear to want to win... even if it involves questionable stuff... I would say the same for anybody in this situation. Pretty amped. ~Steve

Reed missed Stewart in an earlier lap. Stewart just jumped on the throttle and appeared to leap clear of the impending collission. I was glad to see Wilson win. Do they run two separate series for the Lites to get a bigger base of riders moving up to the 450 class.?

I think they split the Lites into East and West so it is less of a financial strain on the privateers... It was weird to have to learn a bunch of new faces.

I am sure it was not a move Reed is proud of but he gave it all because he wanted to win. Don't forget that Stewart put a hard pass on Reed pushing into his teamate to take the lead. I think it is ok every now and again, wouldn't want to see it every race though.
I don't want to see a bunch of rules, every race would be decided later decisions and appeals.
Overall it was great racing, better than predictable runaways.

That move made by js to get the lead is being over shadowed by that road block cr did ... that was one cool move with all three riders being pinched together ... From one over head shot, it appears js did not really touch cr and Kevin Regal stayed out if it as much as it could ... KR could have given out a cheap shot but showed some class ...

RD somehow passed js and cr on the last corner and got second AND was missed by the live cameras somehow :( ... that was great riding & racing other than that cheap shot at the end ...

RV2 up by 10 on second place! Daytona next ... lets all pray for dry conditions!
