Damn! All this talk about smog removal and pipes and remaps is great but my bike has been in the shops now for 3 WEEKS waiting for a clutch cylinder seal ... sure would like to ride the thing. C'mon Husky all that time the bike is in the shop the warranty is just going away.
handlebar rise. ? Here it is December and I am getting a 630 finally. Want to ask how much clutch, brake, and throttle cable you had to play with for getting that handlebar rise. ?
In my case it was a '07 610. All worked with stock, but my choke (enricher) control is on the carb, not the bars (as on 08-09), and I was able to move things around to work. I later installed a 2" longer clutch cable for a better fit passing over the top clamp. 630 could be a bit different so will need a 630 owner to validate.
Mine has the Scott damper kit which raises the bars ~15mm with no front or rear offset. I reckon 20mm or so with no fiddling. The cable for the air valve looks like it might become the first problem.
I have the 510 spacers under the bar mounts and Pastrami-Hi Pro-Tapers. I just had to adjust the free-play for the choke - bike was surging before I adjusted it. I tried 2-1/2" Rox Risers on the stock bars for a short time but the clutch line got a bit too tight for my liking. Fiddled about and found enough slack to make it work, but it was not a good solution. I asked a KTM dealer what length the 950/990 clutch line was, but the dealer didn't have one, didn't know, and wouldn't find out. I just may order one to find out, but it is likely that is the same length as the 630 line. If anyone happens to have a 950/990 apart and could measure .... ;-)
