Not everyone hates the 2010 CRFi. I got frustrated with the lack of adjustment capabilities of my 2010 TXC. First the reflash and it still was not spot on. Then I had to either spend several hundred dollars more for a programmer that can only adjust fueling or drive 90 minutes again one way and hope the dealer gets it right this time. I sold it and bought the 2010 CRF. Out of the box the CRF will peel the plasic off the TXC. I thought that I would miss the electric start. The honda will start in gear when it is hot. Just pull in the clutch and kick. Usually first kick. If I want to remap it for better performance. I simply pull the ecu. Send it to Eddi Sisneros. He remaps the fueling and the ignition for optimal results for only $50 including shipping. I love Husky's but their efi seems to be a bit under par compared to the Japs. Hopefully the new batteryless efi will have the capability to adjust the fueling along with the ignition or it will be spot on out of the box. The efi on my 310 was flawless.

Interesting. I've been torn between a 2010 TC250 or a CRF250, myself. I have no interest in a 2011 TC250, because it has Mikuni EFI. Been there, done that.

it is funny to see so many efi problems with the 010 250,s the efi/carb forum is full of it:excuseme:

Unfortunately a serious flaw in a otherwise great bike.
I talked to Dave Simon who invented the "Simon Smart Body " about the different efi systems and he said that he can't develop his product for the Husky because Husky won't give him the tool necessary to adjust the fueling and the ignition. Being able to do both is the key to optimizing the performance of the efi.

If you want bike that is ready to go out of the box then I would not hesitate to buy the Honda. The suspension and handleing are also excellent. This is the first Jap bike that feels almost as comfortable as the Husky. I am sure the TC properly jetted with a good exhaust is right in there with the Honda.

I do 75% of my riding with a Honda dealer buddy and he says that my TC250 feels a lot like a 2010 CRF250R.

That is a very interesting view about the Honda. A long time friend who is a dealer and has ridden a new CRF 250 every year since 2004 traded his '10 for a 2008. Reasons being the new bike is too much of a Supercross bike with a smaller clutch basket/springs and different gear ratios. No one complained about the power of the motor, just felt handling would put you on the ground in a heartbeat. Personally I have not ridden a '10 CRF 250 yet.

Interesting how peoples views differ. I bought the Honda to be a dedicated single track bike and so far can't find a flaw in the way it handles. Has been stable everywhere. I am sure that I would have been happy with the TC but I have become addicted to the efi.
I am sure that the Husky is probabley more durable since the bottom end was designed to handle 300cc's.

I know it has been discussed elsewhere but vaguely, but will there be a 300 kit for the new x-lite motor given what we know about the te 310? Or engine updates for the 2010?

From the literature (only proof we have so far) the 2011 will have a new updated head plus its a bore and stroked 250 to get the 302cc for the 310 model, so it will not just be a cylinder and piston mod, it will need to be a case split with crank disassembly and new rod mod.

Depending on how they did things we might be able to use the cylinder alone for a big bore. We'll just have to see how they went about stroking it.

I love my huskies and hondas and currently have an 08te610 and sold an 08te510 to go back to a smaller bike. Both efi's worked great. I have had many 250f (01 yz 250f, 05 crf250x, 2006 crf250 twin pipe. I owed the honda 250's at the same time and swapped parts just to have fun. I put the mx tank on my x and it tranformed the bike. I really liked this combo but sold them get the 510. This bike was a brute for me, sold it and picked up the 610 for dualsport but missed my mx/x combo. I was patient and picked up a sweet 08x with only 59 miles complete with fmf pipe (header and Q4) and handguards.
I added a smog removal kit, EE skid plate and my own dualsport kit and got a plate. Over the last few weeks I rode with my mx buddies on my track and plan on more changes. I have pulled off all the street kit, added an mx rear fender, pulled the lens out of the number plate and removed the odometer. I unpluged the pink wire (rev limiter) and removed the spark screen and this really made a difference in the snap and it would pull each gear much farther. I plan on opening up the airbox and rejetted along with stiffer springs and will keep the off-road valving. These are low cost mods. I am 53 and love the bike. I will most likely put in a big bore 280 kit at some point (the bike is still new with about 200 miles). Honda put on the smaller tank in 08 and did not make all the new handling changes as on the 08-10 models mx/450x bikes which was smart on there part. This was factor when I went shopping. I paid $4000.00 for a new bike (59 miles with $1000.00 in accessories). With a big bore kit ($700.00) I will have what I believe to be a great Honda that will be very similar to the husky TXC models (which I love) without spending $8000.00.

There was talk that the bike was not going to be built for 2011 due to supplier issues. Those issues have been sorted out and the bikes are on the line as I type. Canada is supposed to get a very limited quantity of TC250s in the next 2-3 weeks. Apparently 18 are coming to Canada for MY11.

I've got the cash sitting in an account waiting for this bike. They have exactly 5 weeks and 2 days to present a 2011 TC 250 in the USA... or I'll be spending my money elsewhere. Yes that is an ultimatum.
