** You must first get a dealer to upload the maps (Map3/Akro race map) into the ECU. I have also read here, they also must upload it without the jumper plug installed.
Then when completed, you install the jumper plug and it will run the new richer programing to suit an open exhaust. (And still show map II on the dash)

The normal map (no jumper installed & o2 sensor fitted) was for standard running with factory cat muffler fitted, Map2 (jumper fitted & o2 not connected)
    was for the supplied slip-on.
Race map 3 was for the 'special parts' racing complete exhaust system, but will make the slip-on system work well.

    Can't see your location Hugh.

As 9880sts mentioned, most Aussie dealers can help, if in the States, post to Zip-Ty or again go to a dealer.
Either method requires the connecting of the HST (Husqvarna Service Tool) software, not available to the public.

    Below post for mailing -

I have received a lot of feed back about dealers unwilling to upgrade the maps on customer ECU's. I have discussed it with Ty and we have worked out a service to upgrade your ecu by mail. :)

UPDATE: I can only flash the TE 449/511's as mail in. I can flash the others if the whole bikes are in the shop. The 250/310's can be tuned up, but no mail order.

Price on TE 449/511's $36+shipping with the ZTR discount code.
    http://www.ziptyracing.com/te449-511-ecu-upgrade/

After purchase, please download the order form and ship with your ecu email to us. Thank you.

AH Dangermouse449 , YOU THE MAN , Many people happy with your [Tinken] MMM sorry tinkering , GOOD ON YOU i'm yet to find the time to try this with all the reports it's goodnews and finally my 449 should run right , One good mod I found was Octane 104 added to 98 octane makes my bike run alot smoother alittle more responsive . Maybe tommorrow is the day, I will let you know how it goes. Then down to Lillydale for race Map 3. cheers to 9880sts.

Gents maybe we should organise a Husqvarna 449/511 WEEKEND and to be fair to Dangermouse449 we could all meet in NSW then rip it up. imagine that heaps and heaps of 449/511's roaring thur the bush.

I'm not the man, I'm just A man dude! A man trying to fix my bike on the cheap...:) Can't fault my own bike now.
I was told it couldn't be done, wrong thing to tell an Aussie, we are a pig-headed bunch, probably to a fault. Ha ha ha.
For a near standard bike, looks like it is working out well for everyone.

I haven't tried the fuel mixing.
I do remember when rally driving in the days of leaded fuel, you could mix equal parts of 100 Av-gas, 98 unleaded & Super & end up at 104oct, so might be something in that.
I just run 98 pump fuel, always.

Check out Coffs Harbour Detour.....Boris runs an awesome weekend ride around some of the best terrain.
Could be something we could look into I reckon later in the year.
I've only ever ridden with 1 other TE449, never seen another one in the bush before...

Super and standard I use to run my race car on a mix of super and avgas unfortunately it was also my daily driver. Please dont think I was having a crack at you by calling you the man . I think it's great some one has done something and its cheap and thats a great thing.

thank you again, Great news that I can send my ecu of and have it reflashed as I was first lead into confusion about the process when I asked my dealer about a reflash and Pcv and was subsequently told that both where a waste of time and money and that only the earlier te 450 and 310 responded well to mapping changes.

*** We do not accept 2011 TE 449's. Customer is responsible for return shipping even if no upgrade is installed.

Uhhha does anyone know why this is ? Zipty website states that 2011 te 449's aren't accepted for ecu reflashimg, I am assuming this stands also for a 2011 smr 449

located in tasmania Australia, Couldn't recommend my local dealer more however has been a great help to me just highly opinionated on mapping changes it seems

I did it, it really does improve low end response, bike was running excellent before, but it is even better!
Pulls much harder off the bottom, but still very controllable. GREAT MOD!

Thought the same... here in the VIC / Melbourne area are some 449 and 511 around.
last time at Reefton Pub i saw 2 plus mine. Now yesterday in Wombat 3 of us.. Actually it was quite nice with all these Orange Carrots around..

First Class sold a solid number of the 449/511 models.

I understand it is to do with the earlier ecu, not all of them take the reflash.
My bike for whatever reason during warranty work, ended up with another ecu, possibly because mine didn't take the upload. Not sure.
A pcv or similar may be the only way to richen up these early bikes.
The other mods should still help though.
I would call a couple of dealers if you can & quiz them if they can do it.

Yeah, Boris is sponsored by Yami (my mate has an ex*detour bike) He's a real card & made for a great ride when we were there 2 yrs ago. He had a nasty stack with a 4wd last year & is still coming good.
No worries about 'the man' call, but i' m just an ordinary bloke who likes to fix stuff :-)

I have map 3/open exhaust map, it is good. PCV MUCH better. Control of map from 0 to 100%, accelerator pump
Addition, ignition timing control, RPM display, TPS reset, and that's only the parts I use!

Imagine this in banners Husqvarna reunite [old husky of course] people kicking back in there chairs in the early morning mist from a distance they here the rumble of what they donot know, as time movers on the sound gets louder and louder ,they close there eye's slightly to see what comes from the distance all they can see is the flicker of light , but the sound just gets louder then just on the crest things start to make sense they see a little white/red and a couple of bikes. Thats Dangermouse449 and myself . Guys/Girls who would be up for a weekend of Husqvarna's in NSW . Yes i'm not a story writer for sure. I have a couple of idea's and more would be great.
    1:NSW as a meeting point
    2:Husky's only [with the exception]
3:Try to to some dirt bike mag's [hello any one out there]
4:Maybe have some give aways [Put the money towards a charity] idea's
or we just meet up some and leave it that.
Any way today i'm going to start doing the mod's to my bike.
