Some of the magura clutches come with pieces to do what he did with the chain link. And you wouldn't have to modify the clutch arm.

This is an example of what I've found. [IMG]

The electric start is the greatest advancement to the 2- enduro bike since the disk brake. That button has saved my arse a million times and is worth waiting and watching the "kick only" guys slide backwards down the hill as soon as they try to kick the bike while stuck on a goat track with a 30m drop  and its all wet and muddy... you've been there....

Stall into a fast corner? your running before you stop. kickstarts? compression lock to a standstill:( find neutral:mad: start the thing (dust from the Kato has settled before your even moving again:censored: ).

Lock up on a slippery down hill and the back is starting to pass you. 1 touch and its in line again. Stall on the top of the monster log and just balancing? 1 touch solution.

the situations on a descent ride where that button is used is unlimited. Yes they can be finicky but its the same old story as with the powervalves.. they need a little maintenance. Pull the cover and clean the starter, trickle the battery and they are good to go.

At the stockmans i locked up in 3rd and stalled into a drain that looked like the track, i fired it just before i stopped and slipped the clutch to get moving and just as i moved out a bloody great fourstroke slid straight through where i was a moment before at about 60 k's. saved by the button.

End of a long ride and your totally knackered and trailboss takes you up the killer hill just before camp? how much energy is lost kickstarting the bike when your totally spent and got a nasty hill to climb.

i Agree the Husky is a better bike to ride but not on my shopping list until you can press the button.

A Rekluse makes no need for an electic start,it will never stall.I save time by not having to push the button and with alot less maintaence and wieght

paying a 1K + for a estart button no thanks!!! unless you compete in top level enduro racing i think the average trail riders will get on fine with out a button......its a 2stroke ffs  they start pretty easy!!......put a rekluse clutch in and it wont stall and you will still have $500 + in your pocket after doing all the mods i have done to mine.i have rode with a lot of ktm 2t riders and they always have issues with the estart, most time i have mine fired and gone whilest they are rocking there bike in gear to get the starter to a position it will spin on.most of them kick theres now.

Yep, poor maintenance will kill them in 6 months but not a lot to keep sorted. Mine still works after 2 years providing i charge the battery (need a newwie) and all ive done is pull it apart occaisionally and grease it

its a philosophical thing and i know where i am with it.

Yep recluse is good but a nightmare on a steep hill if it conks out (and it happens). Good on the big bore bikes (450 +) makes them very usable in the tight stuff instead of bonk bonking everywhere and pfuffing out at critical spots

    all good im done here..

If it disengages on downhills, thats due to poor setup on the installers part.. and I'm pretty sure most bikes come with brakes for slowing and stopping??lol

E buttons are for 4 strokes short people and those who can not ride Now I got everyone upset Back in 1989 I had the second ATK 604 made and it had a button and a left side kicker On that bike it was nice to have But.Once I went 2 stroke I would never want to carrie the extry weight for something I
would only use at the start of the race.If i do stall it and that is rare i will then kick it

its when you stop going up that the freewheel backwards can cause some issues, gravity at 9.8 m/sec can catch even good riders out!.:p my point about the ebuttons is its perfect for people who cant ride (im 54 years old so i need all the help i can get). Thats why they are so popular. if your only stalling once a ride your a legend (your not graham jarvis are you??) you dont ride where we ride thats for sure! we have experts who get caught out and they love the button cause it makes them look even better:) . If you think 1.5kg of weight makes a huuuugggeee difference then i rest my case.

If Husky bring out their injected two stroke (and even if its half as good as predicted) that will be the next revolution. The Kato 350 has had some dramas with the filters on the injected bikes and drying one out from a drowning takes a little extra care to keep the crap out of the system which can be hard up to your wazoo in mud and rain so it will be a while before the jury is in as to the practicality of this technology for joe average riding in the hills. Nothing worse than a small technical gidget failing 80Km from anywhere! can put pressure on brand loyalty!

if husky can solve those issues for the average rider, it will have another winner on the books. if they put an electric"leg" on it they will knock KTM into next week in the sales department!

BMW have really put some sparkle into the bikes and its starting to pay off.;)

Its nearly 40 degrees here today and beer and pool is taking priority over bikes!

have a great xmas guys, lots of throttle turning next year...

Just giving you a hard time it is all in fun My point was I like the 2 stroke because it is simple Ifyou need a e button they by all meens get one But the fact it will take a starter, batty extra weight of a flywheel to keep the batty charged plus all the extra wires for me that tkes away from the simple race bike I like
Maybe they could make a Wr version with a button and a race version CR with out I really do not care if it is FI I would just like to see a 250/300 that turns and handles like my 125

Completed the extended clutch actuator for my WR last night. Gonna paint it and throw it on tonight and see how it feels. We added 5 mm length with a slight downard angle on the end so it will clear the intake. Also added the TE449 front fender and number plate. photo 1.JPG

+1 on this, first thing i put on my WR 300 is a rekluse EXP 2.0, takes stalling out of the equation. In hindsight i would have put in the Core just because it is easier and cheaper to dial in to your liking. I need lighter weights on mine so it revs a little higher before engaging.

Is the EXP 2.0 the cheap one? I am interested in that too, can you give some more details about how it works for you?

On the rekluse site, it says that it changes the lever feel, and that the lever is "all the way out against the perch" at low revs. Can you describe how this actually feels on the bike?

I don't feel like I need an auto clutch 90% of the time, but there are times in technical sections where the anti-stall would be sweet...

I love the TE on open trails and on the street. Looking forward to setting it up for supermoto this spring. It is decent in tight trails but can get a bit fatiguing. Its nice having the e-start when Im in the tight trails cuz I occasionally stall it onthe rocks and stuff but with the WR, I rarely stall it in the woods and I dont miss not having the magic button.
I absolutely love my WR for enduro riding but the TE is an excellent dual sport.
Feel free to email me at k5pl5@yahoo.com if you have any other questions. I have a good relationship with my local dealer and I know he does have a 2012 WR300 in stock. It might be titled as a 2013 tho; not sure.

Also, there is a lot of back and forth on the WR whether its outdated, too heavy, no e-start, blah blah...
Well I cannot say enough about the motor. Its magical. The chassis-yeh its not the latest and greatest but you could spend more than $1000 extra for a KTM or GASGAS if you want e-start and a more modern chassis. I will be racing my WR in the Vet B class in District 6 this year. I wont talk any talk before I walk the walk. I will post my findings, results, problems, etc over the season. I dont know whats inside the WR300 Lettenbichler rides but it sure doesnt seem to keep him from winning.

How much does D6 overlap with the ECEA schedule? I will be racing the ECEA hare scramble circuit, probably C Open. I'll keep an eye out for the other WR300...
