Well, unless you forgot to put oil in it, but that should look worse. Any chance the timing is too far advanced? Air leak?

Running Maxima Castor at 32:1 and pump premium gas. It isn't running hot at all.

You will be very happy with the Rb Tmxx , no need for a Pwk.

That's what I hear. I was going to run the PWK off of my YZ250 since my Mikuni is off to RB but it has the TPS and solenoid enrichener circuit.

I know I am prolly starting something but I never liked that oil... But it the plug is the color of a paper sack that is good but that should still equate to more carbon on piston than that...

Is it possible The carb wasn't in the boot right? Crack in the intake boot? Pipe bent or not seated right? Or even ignition timing off?

You can still run the yz carb, the solenoid fails closed.

The 125 power valves will not work in the 144 as they are too long. Better see if Dan can get you the correct power valve. Let me know if you are able to get one.

Maxima Castor is very high film strength....its old school for sure but least likely to cause a scuff like that....they use it in 125 Carts where they rev the tits off those things...

It not a good oil at cold temps though...as it tends to separate....and it gets a bad rap cause of that

NOTE curious if thats the actual color of the top of the slug or did CELTIC clean it off......looks like 15 min run time to me:excuseme:

That's all the carbon it had for probably 14 hours running time including a cross country. The power valves from the 125 matched the two they sent me for the 144 kit. Guess I'll have to get in touch with Dan.

WOW...way way to clean for that much run time...my guess is...air leak somewhere

Fyi, if you run 3 ounces of Maxima Octane booster per gal with Maxima 927. It won't seperate at low temps.

My bro rac 927 @ 40:1 and he thought he seazed his YZ144...he didnt the 927 had gummed the ring soo bad it stuck it in and gave it really low compression...and his p/v was gummed up bad...

but whatever oil you are running that piston is way too clean for a 125

Thanks for the info on the Maxima octane booster. I'll have to order some. Never had a gumming problem with Maxima 927 ever and you can see how clean this one runs. I'm in good hands now, Wally is coming by tomorrow night to take a look at my bike!

Right now the biggest problem is the power valves. Also my carb is at RB Designs. Dan brought over a very tired older TM-125 today and we stripped the PWk carb off of it. It may work if Walt can get my Husky running. I spent most of the afternoon working on my YZ250 getting her ready to ride with Dan and Walt on Tuesday in case the Husky has to sit at home.

CelticDude don't worry; Walt eats power valves for breakfast lol. Good luck to you and I hope it all goes well.
