Word has it that BETA will use GG 2T power units and not KTM ones when they introduce the upcoming smokers

it is a solid motor with nice gear spacing. My 03 EC250 SMOKED a 08 KTM 250 ECX power wise, KTM owner agreed.

I am Troy! For once I actually waited for something and I think it's gonna work out for the better. Thats funny K all the KTM guys around here say the GG motor is "just a trail bike engine". I tried to tell them don't let the smooth power fool ya but just too much orange aid in their systems.

I actually am one of those guys (thought the GG were nice but semi slow) but this one seems snappy and fast. I remember them being more mellow but then again my buddies 08 GG300 ripped to. Like any 2 stroke you can kinda make it whatever you want through pipes and stuff.

Yep. I wasn't sure when I first got the 2010 GG300 it felt ok in the speed department then I lined up with a few buddys and it proved pretty quick for a trail bike. I kinda like smooth power. Riding my GG and my son's 2011 TM 250 MX back to back is a REAL shocker! Come to think of it thats why I traded him the TM for the GG LOL.

Just rumors at this point.....but I have read from many different sources that GG and Beta will cooperate with power units....thats all I have heard

I like those new Beta's BTW

That old GG motor is pretty darn good. It and the Wr250 motors are my favorite 2st power plants.

    YES

the motor is extremely flexible once you find the right needle...(I have the 11 EC 250)...I love hitting big hills a few gears higher than you normally would just to see if it could....and it does:D....It feels flywheeled a bit more than a Hus WR250:thinking:

And its lower to the ground for sure
