Yep a 50 tooth would really be quick. The 47 is a good compromise. If I was riding really steep stuff, 50 would be good choice.
Are you riding that WB 165 any? How do you like it?

I traded the 165 for a left over 12 txc 250. I didn't even start the 165. I needed the e leg. I am setting up the txc to be my dedicated single track ride. Get the suspension back this week then will be adding the Akra and jd tuner and rekluse. should be a rippper. I bet the Akra would work on the new red head ?
Have you ever taken out the spark arrester ? Curious if there is much diff ?

I had to order the Akra for my 2012, "Chrome Addiction" had far and away the best price and great service (I stupidly ordered the wtong one and had to call them for return and replacement :banghead:) I "feel" that the stainless system added the claimed 3 horses from bottom to top.

I really like the Akra without the sparky (on closed courses of course) - it gives the bike a real throaty ripping sound and adds another horse or 2 on top. (I'm pretty sure the added power is real and not just because it sounds so good)

My modified 2012 probably has about as much power as a new red'head does stock (according to Robertacio) but with a little more bottom end. I wouldn't hesitate to run a PC or FMF either but Akra seemed to have more experience with the x-lite at the time I ordered my system - note also that the Akra header drops down over the skid plate bolt which makes access a little difficult - and the extra head pipe length probably explains why it might give a little more low end than others.

    Many. Too many.
FWIW MXA just dynoed the 2013TC250r and the stock AKRA was a weak point, the Pro Circuit TI-5 was better and the cheaper T5 was WAY better.

The stock Akra is not the same as the aftermarket one. I rode a 2012 TXC with the PC 5 and a 2012 TE/TXC conversion with the Akra at the NW Gathering and the 310 with the Akra was much stronger and quieter than the 310 with the PC.

You guys with the pipe on the 12's how much more power does it have over the 2010 TC 250?

Go to the Akrapovich site and look at the dyno. That is exactly the seat of the pants feel the improvement the Akra made over the other pipes. Power starts way sooner, smoother and linear

Cool thanks Russ I'll check it out. I have the Leo Vince slip on and it helped my 2010 TC pull better mid to top.

Yes, the Akrapovic site has the dyno charts. Look up 2012 TE310.
Dyno shows the HP is better, but the torque improvement is what I really like. MikeB has noticed this as well.

I saw the MXA article. They and BillF like the Pro Circuit pipe. I couldn't find the Pro Circuit at the time, so I went with the Akra.
    Either pipe makes a difference.
