I need to say another big thank you to Ajax. I woke up a 0330 threw my rynopower kit and gear bag into my truck, drove up to Johnson valley arrived @0630 signed up test rode the very well sorted WR(CR)300 all with Johns blessing and good will.
Like I said I was very surprised at the feel of this old tech machine, John has that thing dialed to razor edge. My mistakes were not crashes but I did have a few costly stalls and couple of tip overs and some minor hangups, durin the race I got it better sorted by adjusting the on the fly clutch adjuster. For my set up with more time on Johns bike, besides even a little more lower on the rear brake pedal, roll the bars a little more fwd, have the clutch release further out so I can ride with it fully released while resting on my bar grip fingers, EBC red of other carbon rear pads, a heavier rear spring to cope with my 20 lb over the regular pilots weight, a little bit higher idle as well.

My start was bad, I did 2 start tests 1st kick starts well but when the benner dropped I got her lit on my freakin 3rd kick, I hate when that happens!! I was right next to Beta's top tier Vet A rider Dan Cap. very nice guy, I broke a startline stake for us to share as a kickstand....real race bikes dont have kickstands haha. All I got was a dirt spray sandwich at the line as all those guy blasted off!! (no dust so was not bad more funny than anything). Talked with Nick B at the line as well he was maybe 10 bikes to my right on his scouted bomb run line (he did get the holeshot). As usual for the offraod crowd everyone is friendly and easy to talk with even right before the race begins, race faces seem to be reserved for the time we shut down engines and wait for the banner to drop. My muscles are still in recovery/rest time, 2 moro eat well Fri get in a bike ride and be ready for Tecate HS!!

John, I too am coming full circle and leaning towards keeping my TXC310R until after the summer and thinking of it as a new bike (quite honestly with all the stuff done to it , it is a new bike).
I've been on Decal MX to find a good set of graphics to change the color combo to go with the WHT/BLU/YEL theme as well. All WHT Plastic is all ready available as for the YEL fork guards that can be graphic over WHT or the OEM BLK ones!
