just pull the right side panel and unplug the fuel pump relay if you want to leave the charger on the battery

I have a 2014 TXC 310R and it does the clicking thing too. I would unplug the charger and then plug it right back in and the clicking would stop and not resume but, I stopped charging the battery on the bike because I was afraid the relay would start cycling when I was not around and burn up.
I replaced the Yausa battery with a Shorai LFX14L2-BS12 because it's 3 lbs. lighter but, found the Shorai would not turn the bike over from a cold start. After it warmed up it did fine, but I don't like kicking this bike, so I put the Yausa back in. I bought the Shorai because it was $40 cheaper than the Earth X. Is the Earth X worth the extra money?

Do yourself a favor and use the kickstart whenever possible. The E-starts on the x-lite are kinda fragile and I only use mine for re-starts on the trail the few times it stalls.

I got 3 yrs on my E-Start but my sprag just froze to the flywheel.

Thanks for the advice but that doesn't answer my question and it's not my first rodeo.

What WPS battery number did you replace the Yuasa with. The cross reference table has numbers like 490-2501 but, the vendors all have numbers like BTZR25-YZ3 (just made that up).

Mine is the 490-2501 just like you saw. Has worked well for me so far. I got the battery in July/2013 The WPS do not have the BMS system like an EarthX so I would price the EarthX from ZipTy with the CH 10% discount vs. the cost of the WPS battery and decide. With the BMS you can plug up a regular battery charger. Since I can't put a tender on my 310(due to the damn relay clicking), it gave me reason enough to go ahead and pull the trigger on the lithium b/c they can sit for weeks and not lose a charge.

I may do just that but, even with the discount I'm coming in around $150 before shipping. Although, I tried to save money the first time and was disappointed so maybe I should just bit-the-bullet and get the Earth-X. The funny thing about the batteries I've tried is the one that starts it better cold doesn't work quite as well when it's hot and the one that will barely turn it over when cold seems to work better when hot. Go figure.
    Thanks, Rex

Sorry, don't mean to be a smart ass I know you're trying to help. That darn Husky kick starter is either to long or to short. If you use the ball of your foot (heel down, toe up like I do with my KTM) method my toe hits dead into the foot peg. If you use the arch of your foot (toe down, heel up) method I slam my arch into the peg, ouch! I like to trail ride wearing trials boots for feel and they just don't have the protection of my MX boots. I'm just being picky.

If you choose to buy a Shorai, you must buy their $80 charger to get any real life out of their battery. When you price your next Shorai, be sure to add the $80 to it. The WPS cannot be load balanced by any means. Typical life of a non managed lithium battery is one year, where as the earthx will go 3 to 8 years.

We have dissolved the Zipty discount on earthx batteries because a CH member decided to circumvent us and demand our discount from Earthx directly. Our discount is still active for our other products.
