Looking down the road, if I am correct. If you have an X lite Red Head or can get one, or keep yours. They will be collector models. Also the 449/511 should be as well. What I am saying, keep them if you can afford to, cause years down the road, you might be kicking yourself that you didn't keep it.
Ok, now that the "shock and awe" is over, any ideas on contingency money program? And "WTF" is up with the 5 speed tranny???
Hey John, Which ever way you go it is a spendy proposition. Probably the easiest is just to replace the 125 mill with a used 200 mill if you can find one. No matter how you go about getting the intermediate displacement it is $2000. The guys that have done the 175 mod with the 125 really like them. 200 cylinder/head fitted to the 125 crank. For me(low talent level, short and fat) I think the new Huskies linkage hanging so low might be a non-starter. I also think we are a year away from seeing the true face of the new Husky. I expect some cool new stuff for 2015.
I agree for now this was expected and delivered. I'm going with the 250 Sherco 2-stroke most likely but will always be keeping an eye on Husky.
visually nice, but a yawner otherwise. There are linkage guards for the KTMs and they would surely fit on these bikes. I will wait out '14 and look forward to '15 as well for a lil more than graphics, hopefully.
I feel like its 1992/93 and 1999 all over, some of the best looking bikes ever.I love the looks of the 92/93 bikes best.I must admit a lot of you guys told me so .We pretty much have Husabergs new improved but rebadged.Considering the short time they had it was this or the old Italy design for now.As I see it we are going down a new road and its a great product at least to get us thru until Husqvarna gets its own identity fully again.I hope we get a couple more models to fill out the lineup before the dealer show.Considering the low number of Husqvarna street legal bikes left in USA may want to pick one up before its too late.We have never had a 85 cc market before so that will be a new row to hoe.The new bikes look great and so cant wait to ride them.
Why not rebadge the 50cc junior and senior models? After all, I think KTM really built themselves up through brand-loyalty, starting in the 90's with 50cc mx models that instantly made all other 50's obsolete, then had a quality product for every growing step along the way to big bikes. That 85 is nice, but why start (stop?) there? I'm keeping all my Italian rippers, but I'll own a new TC250 ......
I guess it's just me, but the whole Husaberg / Husky switcharoo seems like a big joke. Why did KTM even bother? Again I might be all alone here, but if I wanted a Husaberg I'd want to be able to buy one for what it was, everyone I know of that got one of the last ones loved it. Why not wait and release an all new Husky in 2015 rather than a regurgitated, re-badged, Husaberg that appears to be not as good as what was a Husaberg the last couple years? I hate KTM, and I'd rather buy a KTM 300 than this 2014 mutt. I love Husky and I'll be anxiously awaiting the 2015 bikes, but I think KTM made a fool of them selves right out of the gate. Brad.
I hope this new era for Husqvarna does not hurt the existing Husky dealers. From speaking with a local KTM shop salesman, the way KTM does business, requiring it's dealers to stock and floor x-amount of models is not necessarily good for the dealer. I hope this is not the case. Enough with my downer talk. The bikes look good. Hoping it's all good for all of us.
What really is confusing me is after years on a Husky Andreas Lettenbichier has switched to KTM for next year
