Jim dry with no freaking sign of any rain into December----I keep looking at ocean storms, mountain storms etc that may travel here.......nothing is showing up.....but truth is even in the dry HS races we spread out fairly quickly and with this enduro format it wont be that bad even if stays dry, that area is rocky and hard so dust is minimized along with the minute by minute enduro spread.
Things are looking---- mucho mejor aqui November http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/tecate-ca/91980/november-weather/231864 December http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/tecate-ca/91980/december-weather/231864?monyr=12/1/2014
"up" there (4000-5500ft) with clouds holding and all the bushes and trees with shadows, moisture tends to stay put for a while. also that's a bit of info for your altitude settings, cool dense air, but @5k altitude average.
Sweet, I am #383. I will be the 6'4" guy on likely the only CA plated KTM 300. See you guys out there!
#161-couldn't ask for better. Unfortunately for the rest of you guys-that bottle-neck in front of you was probably caused by me !
No bottlenecks! "Hey, you, Washington guys on huskies, BACK OF THE BUS"... I guess it pays to be local. I still can't wait, should be a great time. Later,
holy crapoly looks like 60+ SSEN 50+ riders in my class I expect to be top 5. lets see how those expectations play out. Im # 251, nice to see one of my friends and SSEN competitor Reed on the row in front of me ( he has a way of always beating me in various events we do but we are always very close)
You'll have a couple of my buddies Grant Palenske and Dave Wonderly in the SSEN class that will be fast, along with the usual ex-pro guys...looks like a tough class to be in
Thanks N4544D, Its OK Grant and Dave will have LR and the other ex-pros to contend with...we all have our burden!! (PS Grant is my 300cc consultant) and yes those 2 are faster then me, Ive never been qualified for or have ridden an ISDE like those guys. At the 2010 Enduro Grant was on minute 2 behind us his whole line regularly passed us in specials. I'm still very happy that LAMC made this thing cut and dried for classes just open/pro and age brackets no A-B-C you sign you race in your age bracket (open). I have a feeling there will be a high attrition rate for this one, I think a lot of guys don't know what they are getting into. The last Hammer down invitational that Grant(signed me off the course at the finish) and Jimmy and others presented was a tough one, if the 3rd loop has that stuff in it after 70-75 miles......its going to be long hard day in the enduro. Perhaps I should reduce my potential for disappointment and shoot for top 10 in class
This is my first official event so I am shooting for "finishing" I have been a mtn biker for years and was introduced to moto by Wonderly (we ride mtb in the same "club") and then found out Grant lives two blocks away from me, lol. I bought a bike last summer, went on a baja ride with Chilly White and between Grant and Dave and a few other buddies, here I am, hooked!
From what I hear, they're really trying to kill it on the 3rd loop. ( I think they want to hark back to the old days when they had around 19 finishers.....)
lets get on with it!!! the suspense is killing me. I spoke with the loop 3 capt./assistant ive done loads of his killer rides and completed the last few without too much fatigue. He did not say too much as is understood, but he did tell me to be conservative and to keep a good reserve for the third loop which is loaded with "sporting" sections. From experience down there just always be in attack position to go vertical up or down, especially when coming around blind stuff. Many times on our fun rides as well as races you will come around a big rock only to be faced with a bigger steep rock straight in front without much run up, just load unload hop and up you go!!
2010 enduro report from enduro 360--That "tired"racer in the foto is is our minute 1 mate Massimo (ITA). He commented..at the bottom, not tired just avoiding another rider http://www.enduro360.com/2010/12/07/gone-racing/2010-tecate-enduro-results-and-photos/
We did some get some rain last Thurs and Fri, there was some moisture in the ground even into Sunday. I was told there is some weather activity projected to get here in time for the Enduro, rain for a couple days before would be most perfect!! on another note for drivers, LAMC and I highly recommend this http://www.bajabound.com/?r=losancianos
This is about good as it gets a few days before, hope its a good downpour. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/tecate-ca/91980/november-weather/231864
