    Switched to:
NEDW (3rd) 38PJ, 172MJ with red spring. Good but a tad rich. I removed the seat and dremel'd off 1/2 of the plastic supporting ribs underneath the seat (on the seat pan). Much better now. Thing is breathing better. My float was also wayyyy out of whack. Set it to 8mm.

    Settling on:
For now I'm running NEDW(4th), 35PJ, 172MJ, AS 2out with red PV spring (flush). Chugging (tight technical) around is good with good transition from low to mid to high. I may change the red spring to yellow however.

My adventure continues. After the bike wouldn't start after rejetting with 168 main, 35 pilot, red needle at 3rd position, and clean fuel I decided there is something else going on.

Pulled the exhaust and out came about 6 ounces of fuel. Once it was drained I put the pipe back on and tried again. Still no start but it sounded better. After a bit of cranking I pulled the pipe and it contained more fuel.

It almost sounds like the float is stuck open. Has anyone run into this?

Pull your bowl and check your float height at 45degrees. I didn't measure mine but it was wayyy off so I reset to 8.5mm and its alot better now. To make it easier, attach a host to the carb fuel intake and blow into it while you (use finger) move the float up. Then you can tell exactly when the float valve is sealed. Makes setting the float easy and accurate.

    Other Motorcycles:
    04 CRF-270x, 95 CR500, 93 CR250 etc
    Western Washington
    last run at 55 degrees
sea level to about 1500 feet (so far)
Fuel: 32:1 non-ethanol pump gas, 93oct, Amsoil full synthetic pre-mix "Intercepter"
    Slide: Stock (#7)
    Pilot : 35
Airscrew: 2.5 turns out from full in
Needle: NECJ, 3rd position from the top (RM 250 needle from Rocky Mountain MC/ATV)
    Main: 175
    Float level: Factory spec checked
Exhaust: Stock pipe and silencer with EE Spark Arrestor end cap

Runs perfect. Lug it around two gears high for any amount of time then snap the throttle and hang on. No bog, no exhaust splooge etc.
Happy - will see what the warmer temps bring.

More bad news. After I wasn't getting anywhere with getting the bike to start and it's brand new, I brought in to the dealer in Worcester, MA under warranty.

They called me today and stated the crankcase was filled with fuel and washout had occurred. Work on the bike was stopped while I contact Husqvarna to make my case for warranty work.

It was determined to be a stuck open float which makes sense.

Not real happy with this bike so far.

Now I have good news. I contacted Husqvarna US and made my case. They offered to pay around $100 of $150 to fix it. The float level was way off, or stuck from the factory and that appears to be the cause.

That sounds like a fluke deal.... and a stuck float couldve been caused by anything..... junk in the gas or something snuck by the air filter....

Here's the latest. The dealer returned the bike to stock jetting. Picked up the bike and brought it home. Started it up, and rode it down the road. I slowed down to turn around, and it stalled and didn't want to start. Turned off the gas because I am afraid of it flooding again, and tried opening the throttle slightly. It bogged a little and then started.

Added some fresh fuel, and tried a short loop in my backyard, and it's bogging and loading up down low.

Will call Husky support again, and the dealer and report back.

    Seems OK top end wise.

Did you or the dealer pull the bowl and check/reset the float height? Mine was off and I've set from 8.5mm down to 7.5mm which seems to be fine now.

Yes. The dealer checked and reset the float level height. It was also stuck open, which caused the massive flooding.

I called both the dealer and support today and told them the situation. The dealer seems to think this bike doesn't really have any low end and maybe I bought the wrong bike. I don't believe this because I have seen videos posted on you tube of people lugging them around without issue.

Seems like the dealer doesn't really know much about the bike, but I would like to know what others think.

Mine was a bit of a dud until I cut out most of the supporting ribs on the underside of the seat. This allowed more air to get in. Works a lot better now. For kicks, just pull the left side number plate off a little and ride for 5mins. I can lug 3rd, crack the throttle and it'll wheelie.

Thanks Cameron. That's why I haven't given up on the bike. I want exactly what you are describing.

    What are running for jetting?

    Dealer returned my to stock.

NEDW(4th), 35PJ, 172MJ, AS 2out'ish with yellow PV spring (flush). Chugging (tight technical) around is good with good transition from low to mid to high. I'm at sea level to 1000' and temps still averaging around 14C here on the east coast. I'll try and snap a pic of what I did to my seat to show what I hogged out.

Tried removing the side panel a little to allow for more air flow. I didn't notice any difference, and it still loads up and stalls. The reason I think it's too much fuel is because when it does overcome the bog, there is smoke. Otherwise there is almost no smoke at higher throttle.

Probably just going to bring it back to the dealer as its still under warranty. It's basically impossible to ride it as is.

Brought the bike to Wagner Motorsports and spoke with service. He seemed surprised to see me.

This morning before leaving, I adjusted the air screw out slowly and it seemed to get slightly better the further out it went. I was told you should not have to turn the air screw out more than 2 turns or so, and if you do then pilot jet is too large.

I think it's the pilot jet and the needle. The reason I don't want to change any of it myself is because it's still under warranty.

Contacted the dealer yesterday for an update. The bike isn't ready, but I was told they are working with people they know in the riding community to get the bike jetted correctly. I responded that I was pleased they are at least trying something and acknowledged the bike isn't right.

After not hearing anything back for several days, I called the dealer for an update. I was told the carb was gone through a few times with no difference. Turns out they found a broken reed, which might be what's causing the problem.

Hopefully that's the issue. I'm actually pulling mine tonight as my jetting went from good to bad all the sudden.
