Heated up & bent front brake lever out a bit as was at max adjustment but still too close to fingers. Will bleed & change fluids in both brakes as feels like the front has some air in it possibly. Tie wired grips & also glued left side on when fitting handguards. Forgot me grip donuts oops!

Cut the bush down, filed the bolt head a little & slightly bent the linkage to eliminate the downright dangerous auto retract stand. No more busted shins! 20180926_211212.jpg

20mm bar risers done. Machined down ally risers painted black with longer 10.9 bolts that had 2 edges of their heads ground down to make T bolt like OEM.

I know of 3 or 4 guys who have bought new GasGas 250s or 300s in the last month or two. So far all of them say the stock needle won't work but that's a minor fix. I know the Aussies have some crap fuel to deal with but if it helps the guys around here are saying the set up that works is:

    42 Pilot
N3CH Needle 2nd groove from top
172-178 Main depending on air quality
    air screw 1.5 turns out

Yep 42, 178, AS 1.5 but NEDW clip 2. Seems spot on. Still very spoogey but am gonna try 50:1 & maybe a different oil. I reckon it's the massive silencer & fat squish(which I will address before too long).

Didn't really like the China headlight so got an OEM GG mask(no light) for $28.60 delivered. Araldited a bit of clear perspex cut to size to fill light gap & sprayed silver with cold gal paint haha. Looks good & much better brake line guide.
Also got some SS spacers & front axle nut so can do away with the stupid 8mm Allen key OEM nut.

Also have an Akropovic 2T silencer that a mate gave me(!) in very good condition more or less that I'm gonna chop down a bit(they're huge & longer than stock FMF) to make a shorty type silencer to see if it helps with spooge any. Just gotta get stinger section modded a bit by local fabricator.

20181104_183242.jpg New useful bling from P-Tech.

Nearly 20 hours on the bike now. Motor & suspension feel great. Still a bit spoogey but hopefully head mod will sort that. Top shock bearing has some play in it so new one coming under warranty. Weird it crapped out so early, must've been dodgy or damaged on install in the factory.

Excellent looking bike Shawry...been on a Beta 300RR the whole year and now the 4t350 is all but sold...back in the game as Roop would say :D

Anyway, you didn't need to bend that kickstand spring linkage thingy, just replace the kickstand bolt with a countersunk and she's all good...stoopid Kato's had that same problem.
On the Lithium battery, they don't like the cold so all you do is give them a few quick jabs to warm them up and she'll start no problems.

Is this GG the ones with KYB SSS forks?

    You know it!! KYB goodness.

Shit stock batteries but fine once warmed up on a cold day. No probs on warm days.

43 hours & going strong. Only negative thus far is a top shock bearing that has a bit of slop. Got a new one under warranty & same deal. Getting conflicting reports as to whether it is normal or not(I tend to think it should be playless)?!

Threw a second hand Shinko 525 Cheater on the rear as stocker was well shagged. Grippy tyres for logs/rocks etc. Taller profile has chewed out my shock mudflap a bit but they're cheap enough. New chain on the way so will go to 13:51 for a bit more off the bottom. Currently 13:49.
Nearly time for new grips too.

Serviced all the swingarm/linkage/lower shock bearings. All very well sealed & very well greased from factory. Also did wheel bearings which were still very good. Overall loving it so far. Will get head done at 80 hour mark when piston is replaced. Shouldn't take long to get there with Xmas holidays coming up! Braaaap

Also greased chain adjuster bolts again when swingarm was off. These bikes have plastic plugs on the inside of the swingarm(like WR300s & older Yammies) so drilled a small hole at lowest point of swingarm like I did on my Old Huskies to act as a drain. Lucky I did as both sides had a bit of water pooled up in there. Obviously from washing it a few weeks prior as it's dry here everywhere ATM!

D+m dude you got it going on with that gasser.....lately I been thinking hard about them ..does it turn sharp enough or does steering lock suck like a 12 even after removing nuts so forks hit radiator?????

New Chinga ProTaper genuine imitation grips a few rides ago. They seem good for $8!
Also new Pro X 51T black Ultralight steel rear, 13T front & gold X ring chain. Makes 2nd heaps more usable on the 250 up from 49T!

I've never understood the point of adjustable steering locks. Why would you ever want to limit the turning radius anyway....?
