Right..dyno challenge eh! I will have to put the 400 on and we can see how the port job went in blowing off old aircooled engines.... Bugger! the local shop has flogged their dyno you win...

Does anyone have the stock horsepower number from factory on the 1986 husqavarna xc500?

What size front sprocket? What mix ratio? How tall is your rear tire? You tire is shorter than a dirtbike tire with the knobbies. That's going to eat up rpm's.

Sounds like your needle jet is a tad rich? I'd shoot for the needle in the third slot then you have adjustment either way.

Blowing off ac engines? Lol. My '86 400 WRX what ever it was(said cross country on the swing arm) was very fast. She blew away a kx250. We tested the speed on the kx it topped out at 85mph. We figure the 400 was over 100 mph. I'm going to need another rear rim for a street bike tire.

Dyno's don't lie.

If anyone has the cycle worlds book on 75 to 86 Husqvarna I think it is. They say the 390cr has 43hp at the rear wheel.
On the full body dyno that's rear wheel hp. Now figure how much hp we lose through the gearing?
You might be near 50hp?

What is your reed block ? Is it a Mossbarger or stock?

And one more question do you know or can you get me what the
cylinder pressure is ?? Kick with PSI gage with trouble wide open.
