hey guys I was wondering did the Nuda came to the states. never seen one on the road or for sale. thanks Brandon
No the Nuda never came here to the US. I wish it did. The guys over sea's really like that motorcycle.
Well in here there are still a lot for sale, the current prize is 8.999 for the normal version with ABS and 9.999 euro for the R with ABS. If you like the looks, 174 kg and 105 HP can be a nice combination to import it into the States. Regards, John
Importation of vehicles here in the us that did not go through dot approval is very difficult. We do it for high end automobiles but doubt any one would go through the hassle or money for some thing of this value. Although I am looking at getting a yamaha fj09 with similar power to weight but in a better long distance package and a lot less maintenance. If it was the yamaha fz09 or over seas mt09 would have the same weight a little more power and still less maintenance. Only problem When I get the yamaha I will have to use a different forum that I hate to do. LOL
The Nuda was/is a great machine but the MT09 IMO is better again. Second hand on Gumtree.com.au Nuda goes for $11K vs $12500 for a new MT09. The MT09 is a bargain For a new one of, Bike or Trike to meet Australian Design Rules or to gain a compliance plate to become registrable the cost is $22k to $30k, depending on how many reviews.
After owning The husqvarna tr650 the 28k mile valve check is nice. Although I will not see the 14-16k miles on the front tires and close to 10k miles on the back tire. Those bikes you have to replace tires a lot faster. I guess to be expected when you double hp and tq.
I guess to compare apple to apples though a Mt-03 is yamaha's Husqvarna tr650 Strada. Keep the strada in stable because the yamaha lacks the power to compete with the 660cc single only putting out like 46hp the 41 ftlbs of torque not bad though. Has to get better fuel mileage lol
? The MT03 has 48hp and is geared very different from the TR, so the difference in power is not as noticeable as with the XT660R, X or Z. The MT is less suitable for longer hauls and motorways than the TR though. But on the other hand the MT is a little nimbler. It is a great fun bike, but less practical than the Strada or Terra. Those Yamaha 660 engines are very restricted on the air intake, so it doesn't take much to get them closer to a stock TR engine. Apples to apples I'd say a strada compares more to a XTX and a Terra to an XTR though. The MT03 is a bit of a different animal.
sorry meant 46hp but was just comparing motor not really familiar with the MT-03 and that the fj or fz09 here is not comparing apples to apples.
I still have a couple of new ones on stock (Nuda 900 non-R ABS) for €7271 ex VAT. Shipment to the states is always possible haha. :P
I don't like that. Here in Denmark, the retail price for the Nuda (not R) was 16.750€... The price on my Strada was 10.000€
Btw, the reason that no Nuda's were delivered in the States was because the USA-branche of BMW saw the bike as a large threat for their road models.
At the time the Nuda was introduced BMW had not motorcycles in the super Motard line that would have competed with the Nuda. They compare the nuda to Ducati Hypermotard and KTM 990. I would have considered it over the Husqvarna tr650. Touratech version is crazy. Would need a skid plate for sure!
You should have posted that with a NSFW link. How am I supposed to get anything done with a picture like that laying around? ;-)
