So apparently my impression that the '92 WR 250 ignition is the same as my '92 WXC 360 is incorrect. I assumed they were the same because according to the part numbers from Husqvarna the WXC 250 and 360 are identical and I was under the impression that a WR was the name given to a WXC/WXE in different markets. I came to this conclusion after cross referencing the flywheel taper measurement of the HPI kit which is 19mm at the start and my flywheel taper which is 16mm at the start. I then proceeded to look at the dimensions of every other ignition and couldn't find anything suitable. I'm feeling discouraged but hopefully Willy from HPI will get back to me with some promising info. Just wanted to share/vent with you guys :)

    according to the parts fische
the show 2 options CR or WR
but the models and service manual show WXC and WXE
seems the fische was set to reflect off road vs motocross

I have a WXC which is essentially a WXE without lights, not that I have to tell you guys that. Why is it a '92 WR 250 would have a different crank taper than a '92 WXC/WXE 250? Is the bottom end on WXC 250 the same as the bottom end on a 360?

it is the same bike with a different designation WR means wide ratio CR means close ratio
the 250 and 360 cranks are different but the end taper that mounts the ignition is the same
W is wide ratio, X not sure, C is cross country, E is enduro as in light package for legal competition

Unfortunately neither of these offer ignition kits for my bike :(

This is what I suspected, which is why I'm perplexed as to why my taper differs from the taper specs that HPI has listed for their '92 WR 250 stator kit. Dunno, some more investigation is in order. I'm having my fork seals done, should have the bike back next week at some point and I'll do some measurements of my own. The saga continues...

see if HPI shows the ignition going 92 to 93 if so it's a later model

This is the kit and it says its specifically for a '92: http://www.hpi.be/item.php?item=210K280. The peculiar thing is there seems to be no lighting ignition kit for a '93-'02 WR. The flywheel specs are listed, perhaps someone with a '93+ 250/360 could confirm the specs? Willy told me to send my ignition out and he'll build a system, which is great the one caveat is HPI is in Belgium...beggars can't be choosers or in this case choosers can't be beggars I guess :)

Well, just looked at the link and while it lists a '92 WR as an application it also lists a '92-'94 as an application as well. Which I guess would mean it is for a '93+ bike as you said...mystery solved.
