Norm - I just love the look of this bike, but I admit that it looks much better in the red & silver MV racing colours which harks back to the old Ducati powered Cagiva Navigator. If it handles and rides anywhere near as good as my current Suzi V1000 powered Cagiva Navigator then I am up for this bike. Husky were working on a touring version of the Nuda before they got shafted by BMW/KTM, I would have like to have seen this bike and think they would have sold well, its a shame it never got to see the light of day. It looks like MV have woken up to the huge touring/adventure market. Good on them and I hope they steal more BMW, Ducati & KTM sales. This bike might actually prise me off my old Navi.
I agree it is marketing....and also a turn off that removes the bike from any further consideration, sorry.
Like I said earlier, I believe the point to that bike is to lower expectations so almost anything they want to bring to market will be greeted with positive feelings e.g. "at least we did not get that ugly bike!" I did not say it was good marketing, but the fact remains people are still chatting about the bike - so in that respect it was successful.
Definitely looks better in red/silver and black frame, but to my eye.... something is off in the proportions. It looks too squished together or something.
The 690 will weigh about 140 kg + so looks like only TM will remain as a manufacturer of MX based street legal Motards at this stage
I have been afflicted with 4 stroke fever since the '80's. The Husqvarna 510's (I only ever saw in magazines back then) were a big part of my infection. I have accepted my condition and have given in to the fact that there is no cure for me. I can admit though that I was excited to see this bike and really hoped it would become a reality. Here is hoping we may still see it, albeit in the new back to the future white blue and yellow colors.
This bike looks a little funky to me, but I could ride it I think and looks on par with all the other streeters I see and better than most ... Looks they were bent on making sure the bars are up in the air so that you will not have the squatted over feel where your wrists carry too much weight ... -- Check the engine\skid plates different looks between this machine and that 701 ..
You want to get cured Ride a 2 stroke and you will never want a 4 stroke again That is what worked for me Quick story I have told many times starting in 1979 I had a horse power factory C&J Honda XR 500 cost more then a new Husky Then Followed by a Super trick White Bro XR 500 and 600 Followed by many years of ATK 560 and 604 Followed by Mountclair Yamaha/Zip Ty Racing YZ 400,426,and 450 BUT it all came to a end when I rode a 2006 Husky CR 125 It was the first stock bike and first 2 stroke I had ever raced. Won a National # plate against the open class in 2007 I still have that bike along with a CR 165,WR250 and a CR 300 So now I have cured the 4 stroke thing but replaced it with 2 stroke fever
