Others are moving on with their lives... http://www.racing.speedbrain.de/pre...abi-desert-challenge-2013-super-special-stage Joan'ss "Speedbrain 450 Rally" (prev known as TE449, prev known as G450X...) Notice not a "H" logo in sight anywhere. Sad about that.
The Kymco 449 engine, now with our breather, crankshaft and soon to be gear mods make it a bullet proof Dakar racing competitive engine. I am happy to see that it will be ran this year, regardless of the H banner.
There's the outside possibility one of these machines might make it over here ... I'd like to have either of these 650 models for touring the islands here...
Bullet proof AND road legal (homologated?). Would it stand up to road use? Could I just get the lump and fit in a bike here? All these questions ....
Well if that is all it takes, here you go: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/ac...rchase-of-husqvarna.31057/page-25#post-294750 Every possible scenario seems to have been released from Stefan through various press releases/interviews.
Starting to think that either SP is uber shrewd to keep all guessing or changes the story all the time because he may be suffering from histrionic personality disorder or narcissistic personality disorder, or he has the worst case of A.D.D ever! As long as the below is not the spokesman for a press release......Tommy Flanagan from SNL
I think he has a clear vision but as with anything this big and messy things will change often in the first few years as they sort through it all. He has also been misquoted and the media seems to just say whatever. The miss quotes, rumors, media mess and everything just makes it look cloudy from our level. He has been working on this for a year and I'm sure has clear ideas of what he wants to do that gets modified along the way as things unfold. Will take some time to sort. On top of that there is no way he is going to let the "cat out of the bag" and probably many things he needs to hide as it will piss people off. BWM is a genius marketing and manufacturing force and even they struggled to sort it out. Initial plans are laid, things are unfolding, stuff will change, rumors will be rampant. We are just going to need to deal with it and see what ends up and consumer product and go from there.
I did not see any mention of Husqvarna in the cycle news article... just wanted to mention that, in case someone is seeking information and short on time. EDIT: though on page 8 of that issue this was mentioned - same efi as the TR650 uses...
How about something that will not change? It appears to be about a 6 hour drive between the Varese to Mattighofen..
One should check their email accounts, bit dated (like a month and apologies) but this should confirm Husqvarna is wholly owned by KTM. Dear Mr. Centeno, First of all we would like to excuse our late reply in answering your email. We herewith welcome your request in registering ourselves at the Husqvarna owners club forum, which we will do. Please understand that we can not answer all your questions at the moment and we ask for your patience, because we still have some open issues to discuss internally. We will come back to you soon. So long as it's not another race-derived engine that's plugged up to the point of barely running, while having service intervals measured in metres, oil capacity measured in spoonfuls and engine components life rated in minutes... I'm minded of the KTM Freeride - nice idea, totally wrong motor. It was only shoehorned in there because Katoom spent a fortune developing it and want to recover as much cash as possible. Perhaps KTM are eyeing the Husky line with a view to shifting a few more.
