Haha, nah I'm ditching the turbo idea temporarily. Just going for the increased oil capacity, cooler, and filter. I've done a bottom end once on a 125 2 stroke, but that was a long time ago.

Cool, I appreciate it! The thing that will be nice about this project is it's all external so I could build it up piece by piece. I'll start out with just the oil cooler/filter/pump. Then later get the lectron carb. Then if I still want to push the limits of reason I could add a turbo and already have the oil system in place.

Keep posting your progress, I keep thinking of doing something similar to my Auto, the oil gets very hot and dirty!

Will do, I hope to do a run of the oil system soon with the cylinder off to see the flow and test for leaks.

Still need to buy the filter and one way valve though.

I like the sound of the oil pump! I wonder if that set up would be any good on a left kick to feed oil to the head area a little better so they can be used for long road riding runs. Do you know what sort of oil pressure is splash fed to the head?

I think a line running up to the head would be very beneficial, although I personally am not brave enough to make that modification. No idea how much oil gets up there, but I would really like to know. Hopefully the inlet to the scavenger pump for the engine I'm modifying is low enough to be fully submerged in oil, otherwise I imagine any additional vacuum in the crankcase could potentially affect the ability for oil to reach the head.

That Morgo remote oil filter kit you posted stormer254 is a little pricier than I was hoping for. I am truly shocked at the lack of inline oil filters, I seriously can't find any. Inline fuel filters I can find all day, but inline oil filters? Nope.

I'm thinking I'll buy something like this:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Remote-Oil-...Rod-/301372133475?hash=item462b2dd063&vxp=mtr

Make a trip to the hardware store for a couple hose thread-to-barb adapters and hose clamps. Then purchase one of these guys and install an oil pressure and temperature sensor. The oil pressure sensor is really all I care about, but since I'll have the port anyways, I figure it would be interesting to read temp as well.

Then hopefully I can find one of those short stubby oil filters for the adapter to keep the size small. Definitely going to be way bulkier than I had hoped, however.

Filter came in the other day, way smaller than I was expecting, which is perfect. Waiting for some funds, then purchasing a full gasket kit and tearing apart the bottom end.

Got too many projects going right now for the obstacles life is throwing at me, and I think unfortunately this one needs to go. PM me if interested in a great deal on a fun project (located in Humboldt County, CA)

The bike is 100% disassembled, do you guys think it would be better to try to reassemble it as best I can and sell it, part it out, or sell as a box of parts? Trying to cut my losses at this point

awww man what a rapid decline! we went from turbo time to a box of parts!
i would make you a very fair offer on it if i wasnt on the wrong side of the country, i have been looking for one. obviously the bike would be worth more running and together, you may be able to get more with it being parted...but it will take awhile. and you will likely end up with parts that are unsold.

This is very true, hard to part out except the few parts that are in demand which is not many on the 610.
